Wow, SE actually listened? God Bless
Actually the one positive thing many ppl are overlooking due to the housing shortage is the introduction of the housing relocation system. SE can continue to fix the issues in it as Yoshi stated this morning.
The reason I mention this is it can be utilized in the future if they decide to overhaul housing or major reworks to it. The relocation system can be utilized for migration in the future.
Just a basic example. Wards become free company housing only. All privately owned homes are migrated over to a separate instanced system. They can also tailor it to their needs as already shown. % back of gil, the new item storage, etc.
You can take many of the suggestions made on these forums and plug them into the relocation system as a migration tool. This is of course if SE decides to address the issue.
Not mad at you and only partially mad at the community. But WHAT TH H3LL!!! I have the same complaint I have at 4.0 "Does this team not know how to count?" They couldn't count how many Stormbloods they sold and how many instances they would need. Players have a rough idea per server how many people might be able to get a house based on 70s and achievements nothing really solid. The dev team can seriously say today "X amount of FCs and X amount of players meet the requirement for housing per world or game."To be entirely fair EVERYONE who wasn't on those two servers ignored and derided the problem back then. I very clearly remember people coming to the forums to complain and essentially being laughed at because it wasn't an issue anywhere else at the time due to the lack of push to fill non-congested worlds. I think it was foolish of the developers not to notice the ticking time bomb this problem was going to be, but when most of your population is saying it isn't a problem I can't really say I don't understand why they kicked it until another day.
They don't have to say everyone gets a house. We know how awesome this system is right now anyways. But they sure as heel could say we only have enough for 10% (random number) or eligible players/fcs and work from their.
He is right though, the Dev team could have ignored the problem and let it blow over. It takes a lot of love for the community for the producer to hold his hand up and apologise to the players, especially so promptly. Whether the 4.2 changes fix much we have no idea, but the devs have given a satisfactory response that deserves to be listened to.
DAE remember when FFXI gave EVERYONE an instanced house you could place furnishing in for FREE, and later a huge ass garden island where you raised creatures...for FREE? Just sayin
https://kotaku.com/another-final-fan...are-1819324129 That is a site that does nothing but praise 14. He had to get on top of this. He spends tonnes of time per year as PR. He is literally the PR man. What "love" I literally palmed my head when I read "love". The last few times 14s housing debacle has been ignored by media. They also have recent tanking scores from the steam issue. This game could literally be community rated dumpster fire before any Xmas sales. Yet you think it is "love".
While I may question his ability to see simple MMO problems. I will never question his ability to spin PR straw into gold.
Not gullible at all, nor am I ignorant to their past mistakes...hence my signature. Just saying that they could have continued to flat out ignore the issue. It might still end up crashing and burning, and I can accept that.
Well, he was deliberately vague about changes in how the new plots would be sold (apart from saying there would be changes), but the plan to add more wards in all regions in 4.2 was clear enough.
That's pretty much the complaint people have been bringing up with every housing update since 2.1 when it was first introduced.
He said he wasn't releasing details. That makes me think changes to the system are coming. I'm worried it will go to one house per account and people with two houses will automatically lose the extras.
