At this point, there really is no excuse for Shinryu. Shouldn’t really run into more than one or two new players at a time in most cases, and even then, they can be carried. Ex on the other than…yea…that’s an entirely different story…I see that being a particular problem for a couple of months. Maybe. The three runs I did, we didn’t it make it past hyper nova.

Ironically, when we abandoned (mostly because a lot of my PUG group just wanted to see what the fight was like), I re-queued into Niddhog, and we one-shotted that - even with people not stacking for Ahk Morn. Seriously. The tanks, the damn HEALER, and 3 other DPS ran to Niddhog's backside. I had to eat the first one with a BRD. The second one only had three of us. But whatever, we cleared it, so no reason for salt, right?

First run through Rabanastre, was actually stupid fun despite dying horribly repeatedly. I was in Alliance C, and everyone was pretty chill. Even had a few laughs like when a couple of us had pillars dropped on our heads. Wiped maybe 2-3 times for the first couple bosses then last 2 bosses we ended up one-shotting. Still cleared the place within a reasonable time. Not what I expected on patch day...I expected rage and pandemonium. A couple people got a little salty, but nothing major. Was a rather enjoyable experience.

First go at the Ivalice raid was so insanely fun!

Far as I could tell only 2 of the 24 of us had done it before, one of them being my tank. He was amazing! I think he only died once in the whole raid outside of our 3 wipes. He also didn't give away a bunch of things, just some vague advice about "focus more on mechanics than burning the bosses" and told me what the name of the tankbuster on the third boss was. It was nice to do something without a guide or a full explaination.

I was on WHM and my coheal was an AST who was new to healing but did amazing in my opinion. We each died a few times but we were on top of our rezzes when it mattered and were majorly helped out by a SMN who was completely lovely. I doubt we would have cleared without her. If any of you read this know you are AMAZING!

After the second boss the tank of group b left and since it was a premade we couldn't recruit more so after that our 2 tanks handled everything. Several DPS disconnected throughout. In that sense it was actually quite a chaotic run but the positive attitude of everyone involved made it seem smoother than it really was.

I will be the first to admit that I understand almost nothing of the last boss. I love the story thus far and am a huge fan of the games this was based on. I haven't done everything offered in this patch yet but I doubt oneshotting Shinryu EX would feel this good.

All in all this has just been a wonderful patch day. I think I've slept for like 3 hours since the download started this morning. To everyone I've experienced some of this new content with you guys are the best, I hope I encounter you all again!

Just had a really interesting Royal City run. We ran it down to the last fifteen minutes due to a few people being either really rude and refusing to rez so they could instead spend the time ranting at another party member or just getting fed up and leaving. Yet the rest of the group was patient and very much willing to learn and get it down. For a run that most would qualify as a disaster, it's probably my favorite run so far of the content. There's /nothing/ more satisfying that watching people earn their hard won clear and everyone who stayed to get it deserved that moment of elation tenfold. Thank you all for the awesome run and kudos on the clear to the first timers who toughed it out! It'll definitely be one I remember.

As to the healer that spent the entire second boss on the floor yelling at another party member, consume less salt please. We could have made that particular run had you accepted the multiple raises sent your way while you were having a non-constructive or helpful fit because someone dared to ask why you used the LB when you did.

Red Mage randomly burns the Limit Break on a trash mob just before the end boss.
White Mage runs into the purple AE marker that knocks them out of the fight with no rez possible.
Red Mage is told to use Limit Break when the adds show up, says 'ok', then proceeds to tunnel vision and completely forget to when the time comes.

Yes, I'm guilty of all these things in the last 2 weeks. After the 'i forgot about the LB request' one I literally said "Damn it Red Mage you had one job!" out loud.

Dear ASTs/ aspiring ASTs, please for the love of all Paissas, learn what your bloody cards do and look at what your co-healer has buffed before overriding their cards! I've came out of a DS run with my bloody co-healer overriding all of my aoe balances with pointless shit (read aoe ewers/spires!), Boles on herself...the works. I've had a nicely time dillated balance on a nin overridden with a flipping ewer at one point -_- And her response to me telling her to not override them is that I should suck it up because I'm lower level and her card buffs are more powerful. Really now? -_-

At that point, I couldn't tell if she was trolling or just very ignorant of her class. I stopped card buffing after that tirade, although in a way of vindictive relish, I watched her die repeatedly at Diabolos and let the 2 SMNs pick her up instead.

Dear ASTs, if you are paired with a WHM use Nocturnal Sect and if paired with a SCH use Diurnal Sect. It's not rocket science.

As a main AST when I play WHM sometimes I swear every single time I have gotten an AST cohealer lately they use Diurnal. Like...WHY? Shields are great jeez. Irks me to no end.

It's funny you specifically mention trolling. I am like... Maybe 85% sure I just got trolled in my expert roulette?

I queue on WHM, just trying to finish up creation for the week. I get Ala Mhigo 36 minutes in progress. I'm going to be honest I really thought about not clicking in, I mean how does that dungeon take that long? Single pulls even... I just don't know.

I tell myself maybe it was actually the fault of a bad or laggy healer, maybe they just wiped a lot. They're on the final boss which makes me kinda happy. I mean I mostly just do that roulette for creation so at least it's gonna be quick.

Right before he pulls the tank says "I'm a bit rusty" and I respond "It's all good, just keep him on you and we should be fine."

He did (primarily) keep the boss on him. He also cleaved me in every way you can. The multi-hit psuedo-tankbuster? Yup, literally running at me with it every time like it's a stack marker. The Art of the Sword ability where you need to spread to not overlap column AoE's? It was like he was tracing my movement.

There was a MNK who you would think would be safe from most things because she should have been primarily on the opposite side of the boss from the tank, you would be wrong. She was a Full Frontal Assault Monk apparently, it got to the point I was healing almost exclusively with AoE heals because they made everything an AoE.

I am a fairly DPSey healer especially in 4man and especially on a high level dungeon with WHM. These guys made me kind of not want to DPS just for fear of going OOM from healing all the avoidable damage.

But I couldn't stop DPSing because the sword phase came up. I thought things were going slowly before but I got confirmation in that phase. His gague got up to 79. I have never seen it over 50 even at launch. I'm sure even my damage was lackluster because I had to make sure the tank wasn't stacking on top of me for the art of the sword. To be fair I was the only party member not afflicted with the vuln up and damage down debuffs from getting hit into the edges of the room.

We survived the attack after the sword and I just popped Largresse, Medica II and and threw down Asylum so I could have some breathing room to DPS him down.

To the healer that got this party before me I have no idea how you lasted as long as you did. I completely understand why you left. That was so incredibly painful. I don't think I'm doing expert without a friend for a while which is a shame because Skalla was lovely when I got that.

my first attempt at the 24 was the most chaotic thing i've ever been in this game mass deaths tons of wipes most of us having noclue we are doing and pretty much just throwing ourselves as the bosses until they died and it work we cleared with ten minutes left on the clock sad thing is after that spectacle a run where everything goes smoothly will seem boring

I've had ASTs justify going into diurnal with my whm that shields are useless, and any argument I make is useless because "I savage". *eyeroll*

I really meant boosters, but who knows who I'll offend with that lol. Tho with the spate of really bad players on the rise... I had a monk in 320 gear consistently do 500 or less in that new 4.1 dungeon. It was rage inducing suffice to say.

That AM run you had would be rage inducing for me too lol. You'd think a lvl 70 monk would have an idea of positionals >> I'm a bit forgiving of rusty / returning players, although i think, judging from the size of this thread now, ppl tend not to take normal dungeons very seriously xD
