Adding wards is a viable solution but it has to be decoupled and scalable. That way they might actually have half a chance of satisfying demand. Otherwise no solution is gonna fly.

Iuno, I still feel the bigger problem was more in the bottlenecking of the server. I wouldn't have cared if all of them had bought them and I'd had the /chance/ to pick one up, but I mean even logging on the moment the servers came up threw me into a 1300 queue for a server of houses that was bought up in 2 minutes...

It's basic math to figure out that not everyone on the server is getting a house, I'm still not sure what y'all was expecting.
Which in itself is a major design flaw - especially when Shirogane is advertised as a major selling point of a new expansion. Along with Eureka, incidentally, which has been delayed. So that's two major disappointments already.

Best case scenario, add more wards, and implement a one house per account rule. If you have multiple plots, you get to choose one and then you can get a refund. Implement a restriction similar to having an inactive account, in that if you own a plot but with nothing on it, you will lose it after a set amount of time.

That's not entirely correct. Gane (ph. Gah-neh) doesn't really mean gold, gane only really exists in compound words such as Shirogane and most often is just a general "word" to refer to metal that is attached to descriptors to say a specific type of metal.
An example of this is tamahagane or "jewel steel" which is the high grade steel that swords were made from. Tama referring to a roundness in shape and/or being jewel-like (can change to dama if at the end, such as in kendama), and the compound of hagane to refer to steel.
Most often the descriptor attached is a color that then forms the idea of what the metal is, such as kurogane which directly translated says "black metal" which in turn means iron.
So Shirogane directly translated means "white metal" which in turn means silver.
Kogane translates to "red metal" (don't ask me why red is the color, it just is) and means gold.
Platinum can be and is referred to at times as shirogane but I would say that is most likely because platinum wasn't really common or something people knew about back in the day and it just adopted the name from silver due to it's color. I'm pretty sure it's more commonly referred to in it's more Western name palatina.

Right I agree that's why I said as long as they don't just add the wards without setting up some type of gates (figuratively) for people with more houses then they actually need and would stop the absurd selling of houses for millions more than they bought it for

Glad to hear that players from other regions are complaining too and that Yoshi will be made aware of it.
