Only way to make our voice heard over housing is

I hate to say it, but the only way to make our voices heard to SE is canceling our subscription. I didn't want to do it but having people that already own houses buying up new houses and people buying multiple plots has ruined housing and it will never be fixed til they address that issue. Keep my money! I just cancel from now on til you fix this.

If the only content you're interested in, in this gameis housing, then yes, you should probably cancel your subscribtion.
But I think most of us still do other kind of content and have other reason to play FFXIV.

So yes, this is frustrating as hell to see such a situation like this to housing.
But forcing yourself to quit a game you still like to "threaten" the dev team is somehow contradictory.

I wanted a house in Shirogane so much with my fc, we savec money for this for 5 months and we have nothing.
But we still enjoy the rest of the content.

I'd prefer seeing housing dying than the whole game because people cancel their sub only because of this.

So yes, the situation is indeed unacceptable cause housing still is a big feature.
But except raising your concern about it, that kind of measure doesn't work.

Unfortunately, unless you gather up, say, 20% of the player base and unsub together, nothing will be changed. To majority of the player base housing is relevant, much to my frustration and anger as I watch on the aftermaths of this broken housing system.

For me, housing was a big motivation to keep playing even when the contents are dried out. If anything, its just to keep my house from being demolished. New PvE and PvP contents are burned through very quickly and they which leaves a lot of players leaving after they done the content. House, on the other hand, is something I would (if it the chance of me getting a house is not dictated by my internet speed or the RNG chance of the server having an error and booting me out of the client) sink plenty of time, gils, and (most important for SE) money into.

I won't unsub immediately, but after doing all the new contents, I will probably unsub for months until they release a new major patch. Other players can argue that I won't get the veteran rewards and my response would be that veteran rewards aren't worth it. If I had a house, I probably just keep my sub to half a year at a time just because I know there is something to lose if I stop subbing.

"threaten" devs.... really? how do you think we fixed 1.0? by being scared of "threatening" the devs? its not a threat this a business and the only option we have to display dissatisfaction is withholding money. This attitude is why every industry is going to shit, consumers treat business like friends not mindless corporations.

I concur. SE has made an error (repeatedly) that affects thousands of players across all the servers, and should either rectify the situation or face the consequences. This isn't a faulty launch. This isn't a janky raid. This isn't strange mechanics. It's a deliberate and permanent exclusion of the majority of the player base, and I do not accept it.

Uhhh....No? 1.0 was just terrible in general. It got horrible reviews and an extremely low population player base. Even if there were no complaints they still would have "nuked" 1.0 just because of how bad it was doing.

I'd hate to point this out, but i';m going to. The ONLY reason SE listened in regards to 1.0 was the massive amount of people cancelling their subs almost instantly. The producer at that time had the mindset of "They will learn to love what I make!" and he has ALWAYS had that mindset... SE stepped in once they noticed tens of thousands of people dropping subs. When that happen SE looks into the PLAYER COMPLAINTS for answers. I was one of those beta/day 1 people. I know what happened. Just be sure to look at things carefully.

SE knows they can't make these massive mistakes again... threaten to cancel the subs is the way to go...

Also, just a little FYI. Gaming sites are reporting on how HORRIBLY SE is handling their patches and the housing situation in general.

If your main purpose that got you into playing FFXIV was housing then by all means unsub. The rest of us play for the story, glamour, raid and etc.

cmon you guys, this is the age of social media. Know what would hurt them more than anything? Constant stream of bad publicity. Bad image is often hard to come back from and hurts both current customers and potential ones. They did pretty well with ARR, but they had to overhaul the game to do it. So maybe if they start looking bad because of housing they will overhaul housing.
