I stayed up all night so that i could get on the second that the servers came up..... My launcher crashed. Needles to say that 5 minute delay was enough for every house in Balmung to be snatched up. When it takes FIVE MINUTES for the highlight of a patch to become unavailable there is a problem. I doubt anything will get done about this but it makes me feel better lol

And to all who claims that this isn't a valid reason to do so: please understand the value of your money. We all are customers and should have the opportunity to get our money's worth IN A DECENT AND SENSIBLE WAY. Yes the game is "much more than that" and that friendships made along the way are important, but it still doesn't right a wrong and all you are doing is belittling an experience many truly wanted while letting a company treat people less than they deserve as customers and human beings.

People need to get enough pr going with youtube videos and unsubing to get there attention, because if they don't think they are doing anything wrong then yes they won't care. Bad press and a lose of players will speak way louder.

Personally don't think it's considered "fair chance" when servers couldn't handle the amount of people coming in with the 5002 errors, that happened in 3.3 as well, and unresponsive login buttons. It was just luck based in the end and the ones who didn't get a house were unlucky.

I think SE cared enough to add more subdivions, ward 9 - 12 in 3.3, and Shirogane in 4.1. The problem with it is the way they designed houses taking up a large toll on servers that Yoshida explained, stating they had to constantly make backup of the housing areas with all the individual furnishings in case of a rollback.

I wish they had handled this in a better way by improving the way housing is programmed, be it instanced or what have you not. 720 houses is in no way enough to accomodate a populated server sufficiently, especially when a Japanese theme in a Japanese game appeals to many people.

Hopefully the dev team will consider Ishgard housing or a housing expansion again with more wards in all currently existing housing areas in future update.

SE... seriously... this is a pay to play game - make all content obtainable... EVEN housing!!! And, don't think for a second the apartments are comparable to having a house... it's not, and it's insulting!!!!

My understanding is there are infrastructure problems limiting the wards. And ones that simply purchasing new servers won't fix. The last I heard it was an issue of literally where they would put the servers in question should they get them. Admittedly, that was a while ago, but I doubt anything's changed since then. And even if it has, you still have to get the CIO to sign off on dropping several hundred thousand dollars on equipment. Good luck doing that when all they're looking at is their bottom line.

You are absolutely right. Apartments are nothing but non-glorified FC rooms with an extra 200K Gil tacked on because players had the audacity to make the devs deviate from their rose-tinted view of "What an MMO community should be like".
