They put a limit on spec swaps, though. It's only like 3 a week allowable now. This is kind of how I feel as well. Also, you don't even have to be friends with other crafters.. In HW I just put up a PF "looking to trade <insert crafted item> for <insert other crafted item>. Seemed to work fine. Ultimately specialist in HW was bad because a stable of alts/friends/ls/whatever was the only way you could do it. Now? Red scrips have no cap so you can do everything solo if you choose to.
I don't really see how SB is so much better than HW to be honest, other than the first impression of the new zones (which we had in HW as well). Swimming isn't really any more than a new area to fly in, no mechanics differs from it. Spearfishing? Press a button when you see bubbles... much impress, such inovation XD The aestetics is better imo, but that's a very subjective thing. The gauges? Did they actually do much to change or renew the classes? I mean REALLY? The dungeons? Pretty much the same as during HW, they're interesting the first time because you want to see what the next boss does, but get's boring after that when you realize that the boss either does something you've seen a dozen times before, or it's something that you can totaly ignore and you'll beat the boss anyway, or even quicker. The raid? I guess this might be a bit better? It's fun seeing old FF5 bosses, but 4 encounters arn't really a whole expansion now is it? There's been some QoL changes as well, I'll agree on that. But other than that, SB has been kinda underwhelming as a whole.
So more or less the same as HW XD
Yea, SB had 2 new dps classes, while HW had 1 new class for every role. I didn't even want to bring that up to be honest, as it's very subjective what people think and like about the classes =) Being a primarily tank player myself, there's no wonder I find SBs new classes to be very underwhelming.
If people don't speak up about the problems in the game, how else is SE going to know about them? Anyway, I already spent the money on SB, so I might as well enjoy the MSQ since that has been pretty good so far. It also gives SE a chance to make changes. I very nearly didn't buy SB because of the specialist lockouts throughout HW, but my wife eventually convinced me to give it a shot.
For some reason this sounds a lot like saying "If you think spoiled milk tastes bad, you need to try gasoline!" Just because gasoline probably tastes a lot worse than spoiled milk doesn't mean that spoiled milk tastes good.

While I understand people get tired of people complaining, I honestly don't like how players try to push others away. This game is short of tanks and healers you all won't be saying "bye Felicia" when people actually start leaving, then you all will complain about long queue times and a shortage of players, well you all who try to kick players off and S-E will be the reason. Let them voice their opinion, just because you got 50 houses with your alts and unlimited gil on top of a new fancy DPS role doesn't mean players who enjoy tank/healing have to love the fact we got nothing new not to mention we can't even get a house because of players who collect houses. Will this mean I will leave? No of course not. I just hope S-E actually does some good things with stormblood.
the entire housing situation is pretty depressing - especially since we have stuff like FC buffs and airship locked behind this wall and it's basically impossible to get to right now. Please at least address this....
smol alchemy catte
Heavensward was miles better than Stormblood.
