Yes the fact that in 4 years the housing situation has NOT been adequately addressed is enough to shut this game down--and perhaps this is what must happen now to wake Square up?

And since housing launched it's been this way. And the same yelling about, "Poor implementation, instance housing now, I'm quitting this is crap..." have all been heard before and the game is still here and going well.
Does it suck? Yes. The best thing SE could do is stop people from making Alts that make FCs and then buying more houses. We have people on our server that literally have a house in each ward and almost one of each size. THAT is the problem.
Not to worry. "New optional items have been added to the FINAL FANTASY XIV: Mog Station!" Go drown your sorrows in the hilarious cash shop. SE surely deserves more money for their colossal efforts. lol
I guess "10 Million Players!" (lol, right) doesn't equate to much monthly income. If only SE were a big name publisher that could afford servers.
Yea this is such crap I literally logged in at 3am pdt stuck in que and then server error bs then logged right back in not even 5mins later every house was gone lol like really SE I wanted to slap someone
It's insane, people bleat endlessly about SE upgrading servers to add yet more houses, but as Shirogane has proven, that fixes nothing.
The problem is people. Other players. The system is abusable and they abuse it. There's players who have 18 houses all to themselves. Even two is one too many.
Priority should be given to FCs and each account should be able to have no more than one. This may not do much for the Balmung set, but that's what you get for playing on the most popular server, it's unavoidable and totally predictable.
Here's a way they could at least ease the issue.
- Split each Ward into FC Division, FC Sub Division and the Personal equivalent
- Double the capacity
- Lock houses to one FC and Personal per account; with alts sharing
That alone would free up a lot of houses. It's the fact SE has done nothing that is inexcusable.
Want to add my thoughts as a solo player (no FC).
Everyone deserves a house. I dc'd after first clicking play game, then had to relog but was then I was 800 in queue. By the time I logged in all the houses were gone.
In perspective I am a single dad with 2 jobs and I attend night school on Mondays. I live in Seattle and stayed up til 3am to try and get a house and did not win the log on lottery. I do not deserve a house more than an FC and an FC don't deserve a house more than me.
Everyone deserves a tiny corner of the world to call their own in this game. I am probably going to unsub for 2-3 months in protest which I consider more than an individual cost towards a means for SE to implement a means for everyone to have a house, then I'll be back and complaining with the rest of you.
It is similar to raiding before there were cross-world party, you have to be willing to transfer to get into any if you're in a small server.
Everyone can access housing but not everyone plays it.
The real problem here is disconnected people. Not the housing itself. It's the other way around for them, people have to move from the big server.
There's only 1 solution for such stubborn people, cross-world housing in 1 dedicated server.
Un-subbing?! Check!
While I'll probably not be returning after the last couple days run out, I truly hope this sends enough of a message to SE for them to reconsider their course of action for the remaining playerbase.
Sorry but that's bull. Even on the lowest pop servers the houses were all gone within 10 minutes, so no, it's not the people, it's SE being too greedy to upgrade their servers to handle more housing load.It is similar to raiding before there were cross-world party, you have to be willing to transfer to get into any if you're in a small server.

Want to send a message to se? Don't buy anything from the mogstation until housing is fixed. Ob viously none of the money is being put toward server upgrades that would fix this problem.
Seriously though no one is really leaving the game over this. People will complain for a few days then it will get dropped like usual.
