individuals dont deserve or need housing. it should once again be FC only especially on release and needs to follow inflation... 45M for a large is ridiculous when on ARR release it was 120M for a large xD. SE gonna lose a lot of players over this

Yes how about the garden plots, why should FCs be the only ones who can garden. The apartments do not have a community garden for the players to use.Privately owned housing has benefits? Last I checked FC's need housing for workshop, airships, fc buffs, and gardening, personal just has gardening... which they can easily fix by either adding some kind of indoor planters that work just like the outdoor gardens for all seeds or adding a balcony/garden to apartments... seriously FC's really should of gotten 1st shot on housing...
While I agree that there should be substantially more housing, the problem I'm having right now is that FCs are the primary drivers for community in the game, and community is what keeps the game alive. Recognizing that, and recognizing that there are hundreds of FCs that still don't have a house and the FC-specific benefits such a house provides, it boggles my mind that FCs weren't given preference for housing in Shirogane. What's even *more* frustrating is the realization that probably half of the plots sold were bought by people who just want to flip the house for a profit and have no intention of living there, or by people who leveled up an alt and fed them money so they could buy a *second* personal house on their alt character when there are still tons of FCs that don't have one.
That I can agree with, but I still think FCs (as in generally containing more than one individual, plus having benefits that private estates don't have) are more important when it comes to housing than private individuals.
Me and my wife got an FC Medium plot. GOTTAGOFAST
I think it's rather not fair to say "f*ck individual players, go get apartments, and let houses be for FC only".
This sounds as stupid as saying "I have an idea, let's remove all the benefits FC get from housing, that way they have no reason to complain about not having any".
I saved gil to get my house, had to wait for weeks checking every time "is there a plot available today ?" on the three cities, and I HAD an apartment.
I wanted a house. Apartments are too small, have no exterior view, no garden.
So no, sorry, but your Free company with a bunch of people doesn't deserve a house more. The fact that the system is TERRIBLE doesn't mean individuals buying houses are to blame.
I didn't get the option to buy an apartment with two floors, a balcony and enough gardening space. Blame SE, and stop trying to pretend housing should be a FC thing only.
Except I went too fast, apparently, and got booted out by the lobby. The minute it took me to log back in cost me the plot for my FC... the plot that my FC spent most of the end of Heavensward and most of Stormblood saving up for.
If an individual saved money for a house, beat an FC and all their officers to a house, they very well deserve the house.
Even if they implemented this, all anyone would have to do is create their own private FC and buy a house anyway - like they did when it was first released.
Even if it was just Shirogane that was FC only, that would've opened up hundreds of houses in other wards via the relocate system, and helped hundreds of FCs that didn't have houses yet to finally live that dream. As it stands, most of the houses were sold to alts that people levelled up and fed money just for the purpose of buying a house. Not their first house... not their only house... but a second or third or fourth house that they could either decide to keep or sell at a profit.I think it's rather not fair to say "f*ck individual players, go get apartments, and let houses be for FC only".

So, sure, ideally SE would make enough housing available for everyone that wants one... but it'd be nice if, in the mean time, they at least kept the housing reserved away from the people that already have a house (or two or three) on their accounts. The relocation system was supposed to incentivize people to move to Shirogane, not to fire an alt at it and have multiple houses.

You're right... so maybe they need to establish a baseline number of accounts for an FC to buy a house. 10 accounts gets you a house. Less than that and you get to be treated like the individual you are.If an individual saved money for a house, beat an FC and all their officers to a house, they very well deserve the house.
