theyd refuse to move until protect was cast even though the tanks wer mid pull , when asked i simply said i dont have it set as one of my chosen role skills n was met with a dismiss . i dont vote kick on dps eho dont goad a warrior with single figure TP o just find the attitude of these particular players to be rather childish . i wasnt aware of macros i play on ps4 n they can be a pain to figure out imo but thats just me . i will copy your macro n ty for posting it . n KDsilver i wasnt in the wrong , i wouldnt kick someone unless there was a genuine reason ; bullying , harrassment etc ,, its not hard to avoid aoes i main monk so am familiar with dps needs in all of the dungeons n im more than able to heal and dps in a party without the need for protect its just how i play

It's a practically free, 30min duration buff that adds some mitigation in dungeons where players will use none of their own cooldowns most of the time. It takes almost no effort to slot in protect, use it, then replace it with whatever else skill you choose.

Perhaps there's no actual reason for them to kick you, but you also have no good reason to not be using protect, so you're both in the wrong as I see it.

I'm glad you have ensuna. Have heard rumors of healers not having ensuna so kinda surprised by the no protect. Just use protect because its makes people happy and its useful like many said before. Also I dropped eye for eye since the changed cause I needed to add lucid dreaming.. I hope you dps when you can. If its not your thing toss a token combust here and there. I like to dps a but some tanks don't make this possible. Oh I'm off topic a bit. I get it that they gave the option to add protect but its kinda like must have skill. The only time I can see droping it if your co-healers agrees to covering protect and you having eye for eye. So 4 man stuff protect and 8 man could give more room in theory. That said, copy this macro:

/macroicon Protect
/macroerror off
/aaction Largesse off
/aaction Protect on
/ac "Protect" <me>
/wait 3
/aaction Protect off
/aaction Largesse on

That will remove Largesse, add Protect, cast Protect, remove Protect, and add Largesse all with one button press. Hit it at the start of the dungeon. Everyone now has Protect, and you don't have to keep it as a role skill.

Aaw, thanks. I can't take credit for creating the macro, of course. I do advocate it's use because of how convenient it is.

This thread is silly and so is the OP. Protect is literally free mitigation, why would you ever not use it? Yeah, it sucks you got kicked, but when everyone is asking you to and you're stubbornly holding out because me me me, maybe it's not that outlandish to say that 3 other players who didn't like the fact that you weren't being a team player kicked you out of the team.

I agree, it's not a valid reason to kick someone for if we take OP's post at face value. But it literally takes 5 seconds to use a macro to swap E4E for Protect, cast it, and swap it back. If I was OP in that scenario I'd tell the offending DPS to not die or they won't get another protect. : )

Protect is usually cast at the beginning of a dungeon so I assume you are speaking about the beginning right?

If so there is something odd about what happened to you...because 5 minutes must pass before people can kick anyone. So for 5 minutes you refused to just switch protect in and use it and switch back?

Sorry, but it seems both sides are in the wrong based on what you've said. The party asked you for something you could -easily- give them and you refused for up to 5 minutes until they just kicked you. The party could have also just let it slide since it is a minimal inconvenience and you likely would still complete the dungeon just fine; this is true as well.

You learned a lesson though: most of the player base expects Protect in dungeons from the healer and also if your group requests something of you and that something is an extremely easy thing to give them then just do it.

Jeez I wish I had this party, I always have to quick cast protect because the tank usually books it right when the dungeon starts.

That is a valid reason to kick. Stop being lazy. Cast protect and then switch it out for something else.
