What if I don't WANT skills on my bar?

I haven't read this entire thread, so forgive me if I'm missing something, but I fail to see why people are being so hostile over a request for more options. As one person already pointed out they're already going to give users the ability to customize the UI, why not let us customize what powers are and are not present on our hotkey bar. Aren't more options to accommodate the various tastes of the player base a good thing?

I'm sorry, but that analogy feels a little off base. That random website about kittens is off somewhere in cyber space out of sight and is not presented to you at all times. A more appropriate example I believe would be where you have several tabs open simultaneously on your browser and there's a kitten website you don't use. If I don't use the kitten website tab, why can't I just close the kitten website tab and pull the website up later when I need it?
