People with bad luck. The totem system was implemented after enough players were shown running primal fights well past 100 times trying to earn the mount. It's a QoL thing.
I dunno why mounts are so important that someone would spend all their game time farming a single primal for weeks just to get one. everybody gets a chocobo.
The same for people that log in on a daily basis for hours, even tho they have nothing to do content wise, just to chat with their friends. everybody has family/friends/co workers etc in real life they could talk too. We could ask that question about anything and everything, if he enjoys farming birds for the next 5 years, well so be it, glad he found at least something to entertain himself with during patch breaks.
It's a goal like anything else. Plus if you collect them all you usually get a quest for a special mount (Kirin and Phoenix) which is like an extra reward for sticking through it the whole time.
I'm missing 4 in-game minions (Shalloweye, Wind-up Bismark, Wind-up Scathach, and Brina), and 5 currently available in-game mounts (Centurio Tiger, Astrope, Reveling Kamuy, Battle Lion and Battle Panther); collecting all of them is a goal for me. Sure it is for many people.
Others really like how one in particular looks and really want it. Nothing wrong with that
You don't pay my sub.
What else was there to do aside from clearing O1S-O4S every week?
Farm doggies, six minutes a clear.
Better than playing expert roulette with players that don't know how to play their job to cap tomes too.
You people getting mad at content you never even play, let alone ultimate content coming have no clue what it's like.
