So did legacy players, why same logic can't be applied to legacy mounts/tatoo/titles etc? They supported the game in its terrible state, but so did veteran players during content draughts between patches when everyone else took a break.

Another popular MMO out there had content drought for almost 2 years. There was no new raid content while their new expansion was being made. This game is by no means perfect but at least they deliver content and not make you wait years for it.
On topic.
I support this change and i've been subbed for a long time as well. Not as long as some vets out there who have all the rewards, but i'm glad to see this coming. It's a welcome change!

Unequal comparison. Legacy players played a game that no longer exists, and got rewards for their loyalty to a completely different game. Veteran rewards are vanity items rewarded to people who just happen to either fork out more money than others for 180 day subs/game time cards (not everyone with the Squall outfit has actually been playing/subbed since launch), or for people who have played longer, and got to enjoy the rewards for far longer than newer players.
It’s highly unlikely that all these doomsday sayer complaints (“They’re going to do away with the Legacy subscription price next” “They’re going to start offering newbies the WoL Tattoo/Legacy Chocobo”) are actually going to come to pass, and they are ridiculous and misplaced. LEGACY rewards are NOT the same as VETERAN rewards. Quite frankly, this mindset of “veteran exclusivity” is about as ridiculous as the “exclusivity” that is attributed to past event items that took 10~15 minutes of time and minimal effort to obtain when they were in-game—some people got them for free for pressing a single button to breeze through Quest dialogue/do a simple mini game, and others paid $5 USD for it. Big deal. People need to get over it; why does it matter so much?
I’m glad that they’re making rewards like Squall’s outfit easier to obtain. I got my Cloud outfit about a month ago, but I’m not complaining that now it’s easier for newer players to obtain a glamour that they may have wanted as much as I did. At the end of the day, they’re virtual vanity items, and I care more about the time I have played this game and friends I have made and people I have met compared to them.
