Oh, look, a cool new ability. . . that's not as useful as the one I have equipped from that other class, even despite the cross-class scaling. Why would I ever use this, again?"

Which isn't the case once they implement the skill changes, which it seems to be the main thing forgotten, they're everything is being rebalanced and the potency is being level dependent.

You assume every skill will be useful.
So lets talk about THM.
Are the absorb spells going to be on my bar permanently? Do I really need to absorb attack every fkn mob? Nope. How about Drain?
Con: Paralyna GREAT! I need that once a freekin year.
etc...
Thanks for forcing them on my bar.

But you won't be hurting for space on the bar in any way, so what's the problem...? Put them out of the way, and don't use them. You aren't gonna have to wade through seas of terrible abilities to get to the ones you like. You can arrange everything however you like, with the exception of removing them completely. You assume every skill will be useful.

Thanks for keeping that on my bar SE.

Look, I'm not arguing that I don't have space. I get that. But you won't be hurting for space on the bar in any way, so what's the problem...? Put them out of the way, and don't use them. Why am I forced to have them on my bar?
Thats my question.
I know you get that. I'm illustrating a point. Their presence isn't hurting you in any way, so why do they need to be removed completely? Why are you so opposed to them being there?
Why should they be equipped if we're not going to use them?
Some people are minimalists, and just don't want "clutter" on their bars, even if that clutter is well out of the way. . .

Wow I think peoples' logic goes backwards some days.
That's like playing any other game where you have a skill list, like Final Fantasy IX for example. "What if I don't WANT to have this ability?" The ability is there. If you don't use it, sort it so it's in the last spot. Christ sakes. You didn't have any option whatsoever when it came to FFXI for that stuff.
The counter question is why do you care, since you're not hurting for space?
I currently only ever use my first bar. Everything else is macroed in. This will not affect me in the slightest.

Because people were screaming Class identity like mad people the first half of the year. A commonly known base skill set is the best way to accomplish that.
