when you hit the float of post ARR story, the game throws gil at you, at 60, the game throws gil, post 70? will throw gil at you.
hunts throw seals, which can be used on free teleports.
the game throws mats at you, which you can sell.
    you can sell old gear.

an FC can throw the tp price decrease buff at you.
an FC or friend can throw gil or gear at you.

At worse you can manually make your way places for the cost of time over gil.

Where does the issue with the money come from for new people?
When i finished the 2.0 content on a character I made on recently I sat around 300.000 gil, and that's after I also indulged myself in some glamour gear and prisms.

You can't tell me the roughly 2000 Gil quest rewards in the upper 40's from the MSQ aren't enough to go around, not to mention the money you get from roulettes.

When they get broke from teleports they don't utilize the free/favored destinations they can assign to aetherytes. In case you don't know, you can have 2 (with linked security app) free locations and 3 favored ones which cut down teleport costs by half.
And that should be enough to cover the city states, Revenant's Toll and even Camp Dragonhead.

While they haven't stated it yet, I'm quite sure with the update to all the housing wards (Shirogane included, as you can swim there in 4.1 and there is a lot more things on the beach) SE will have thought of this. But I can also imagine it's something you can forget to mention in a Live Letter. Let's just wait and see what they came up with when it releases and if nothing we can redouble on sharing these rightful concerns. Let's cross that bridge when we get there.

I can't say I know what new players usually do, but I do know there is no problem at all to not spend all your gil on gear and teleports. Considering all the quest rewards we get, there is actually no need to spend a single gil on gear ever. (Spending a little gil on gear can admittedly make many things a bit easier.)

Even for those who do spend a bit of gil on gear and teleports it is not difficult to always have a few thousand saved away for special things like longway teleports.

Besides, how often does one actually need to visit ones FC house? I know I do not visit my FC house very often - certainly not often enough that the teleport costs would ever be a problem.

Wait "return" and use it, or teleport to your free destination. Problem solved.

    Use Return.

    Set favorite destinations.

Set a free destination with a one time password.

Realize that 999 gil isn't even large enough to be considered pocket change, even for new players.

    This is a non-issue.

Keep in mind roulettes don't become a significant part of the game until you are well into it, and generally take time away from doing the story if you're going to spend a couple months getting from beginning to the last expansion; you don't need to actively level until you hit the high 40s, and newcomers enter Heavensward at level 54-58. Now people are going to be going from 1 to 70 unless there's some major element in the game that says "stop the msq for a while and go do crafting/roulettes etc."
Leveling my alt on Balmung. level 36. I have 148k. I teleport literally everywhere. Still have 100 tickets. This includes to the fc house to rp. I even forget at times my return is in limsa and waste gil there.

Yet 148k is still plenty. If I used my tickets, I'd probably have 300k given how often I teleport. It's not an issue.

Everyone have 1 free teleport and another free teleport if registered a security token.
Also free teleport if someone else in the party start the teleport (should be no problem with FC members)

The concern is a legitimate one, after all, and not having an in-system way to prevent a new players' wallet from getting gutted when they want to make use of a house they were invited to is a little balking.
Both, Return and the Free Teleport, will bring back the new player to Eorzea, where he pay normal teleport prices. If he can't even pay the normal prices then he should set a free teleport to a main city and use airship to travel within Eorzea.

The FC itself may have plenty of funds, but that doesn't mean the newest members have access to it. Most FCs restrict withdrawing gil from the FC chest to only the leader and possibly (if they're highly trusted) a couple of the top officers. Which means if a new player wants to borrow some gil, someone else has to be available there to lend it. That might not always be the case.

You're not seeing it because of the parts I bolded in the quote above. By the time you finish the 2.0 content, or even just get into the upper 40's, the game is throwing gil at you. So no, by that point, it's no longer much of an issue. But this thread is about its affect on new players, ones who haven't reached that point yet. When your first and still only class is level 10 or 20, and you haven't even unlocked access to selling through the MB yet (or you just unlocked it but none of your listings have sold yet), you may not have excess gil to spend on costly teleports.

??? The security token only gives you one, not two.

Also, as for "This is for new players that are level 10" why are you teleporting back and forth between the house and your main questline at level 10? And don't give me crap of, "They're buying vendor gear" when the game doesn't even need you to do that anymore. I've met players that managed to go to 70 not knowing you could buy leveling gear before HW.

Also, without the app you have a free location, just on a cooldown. With the app you get another with no cooldown.
