Ok first thing. If you're doing this on your phone, change to the desktop site so you can edit your post instead of making a million posts for 1 reply.
Second thing, the issue with whm lilies is not even that its "suboptimal"... it is encouraging bad gameplay. As a healer you want to be letting shields, the fairy (if you have one), and instants heal before you case a GCD heal. That is the most efficient way to play. The whm lily system does not encourage this good play. Instead it encourages players to think they SHOULD be casting cure 1 and 2. That is not true and it's a trap for new players. In reality good whm's generate very few lilies. In reality I usually end up getting 1 lily before I have to spend it (because you always want to try and use your OGCDs off cd when possible to make the most of them). Most whm's dont even look at the lily gauge. Now... confessions are a bit of a different story.... but I still think they have issues... basically because of the same thing. They encourage you to spam aoe heals to get stacks on the party to use PI. That is mostly bad gameplay, again. Most situations, you want to cast medica 2, and just let the hots tick up the party. Unless there is immediate damage following, there's no reason to spam medica II, medica, medica, or cure 3 cure 3 cure 3.... the only place I've found good use for PI is in o4s... which I think makes it very niche. New players make the mistake of panic healing the raid to full after damage, and this system really encourages that mentality, which is not good imo. I appreciate that you personally feel that whm's system is cool. But there are so many issues with it that saying you think a similar system would be interesting on sch makes me cringe. I wouldn't want to see anything like this on any other class unless SE can prove they are capable of updating this system to make it actually encourage good play and interesting to play with. For now it's neither and even though we warned them... they didn't change it enough pre-release. Now we probably cant expect any major class changes until 5.0. Which is just another reason it I think it's best to focus on the small changes that they COULD make to sch within this expansion timeline. They will probably be doing another complete re-work of the classes in 5.0 following all the feedback on different jobs .... and if people get what they want.. remember we might be seeing sch/smn split, which will likely mean a complete re-work for both jobs.
