Dear Healers who don't DPS

Wow people still care about this. Big deal if the healer doesn't dps, big deal if the healer sucks in 4man content.
If you're really bothered by spending 10-15 more minutes in your dungeon then maybe you should make a post about how the dungeon/roulette system is boring you instead of prolonging this zombie topic that just loves to crawl out of the grave every now and then. Because lets face it, one thing ff14 sucks at is making interesting 4 man content. Maybe if they up the difficulty until we need to use CC on each pull then people will stop complaining about healer dps.

How about we don't want leeches? Why should someone else contribute only a fraction to the run while everyone else is expected to play properly? There have been numerous examples of pure healer videos showing said healer only performing at approximately 20%. Many of us have complained about how ridiculously easy healing is in this game but until the devs actually make content require more healing, you'll be expected to DPS even if only a little.

The question though: Who is acting like they are entitled something they don't deserve?

Someone to contribute equally with the group.
Stand around doing nothing for 80% of the dungeon because you only heal.

I'll let you decide which sounds more entitled.

Wow. Do you also kick tanks or dd all the time? I agree that healer should dps, but if you go into a random group, then you will meet random people aka people with a different skill level and we should accept that. How would you feel when you get kicked all the time, because you are not living up to the standards the other demand. Lets say you meet 3 of the best players in the game and they kick you, because you make on mistake. Would you like that? If you want to fight with people on your or above your level, then make an pf and search for them. Again, i am not saying healer should not dps, but if an healer does dps and makes an mistake(s), then you should deal with it and not be as toxic as this person suggest. If everyone would do it, then you would have even less healers trying to do dmg.

The healer is DPSing until the tank's HP reaches a set threshold. The AI healer is DPSing. There are no excuses now.

But . . but. . . Yoshi-P said once in an interview that healers weren't supposed to dps?! (heavy /s). I think this is the dev's not so subtle way of saying it's ok to dps when the time is right. Especially since they showcased it in the live letter.

Lovely how you assume my post was talking about my personal practices, since no where in my post did I use any pronouns actually referring to myself. If the majority decides they don't want a lazy player in the group and want to kick them (healer, tank, or DPS), then they are free to do so. Had nothing to do with what I personally do when I encounter lazy people. But thank you for being so kind and assumptuous!

All roles are "free." Roles serve to make it easier to form viable parties and to give players structure and a sense of priority. Beyond that every combat role defaults to DPS actions: Tanks weave DPS-focused combos and oGCDs with enmity combos; Healers weave DPS while not needing to heal; DPS of course aim to be attacking as much as possible and squeeze in occasional utility.

Meanwhile, I wonder if the reason so many RDMs are trying to 'help' (i.e. needlessly keep people topped off) with their Vercures is because someone put them in healing stance for a thing and forgot to take it off afterwards >_>

Sorry, if i jump to conclution here. I just don't like toxic people and thanks to the community you very rarerly encounter them in this game. Lets keep it that way
