SMN does not need Sustain back. It needs an Enhanced Rouse.

Honestly removing Rouse at this point would be better. It's the hardest skill to fit in cleanly amongst all the other lockouts. It doesn't work with Bahamut, and therefore has to be used after spending Aetherflow but ideally before/during DWT, making it hard to line up in the opener and likely to collide with Bahamut if not properly managed, and on top of all that it offers the least dps gain. 40% is a lot but it's on your pet, which deals around 25% less damage than you would, while having weaker skills to burst with during that time, aside from Enkindle (Not guaranteed to line up thanks to the proc).

I wouldn't be opposed to giving back Sustain as a cooldown in it's stead with the %HP Regen and Rouse's CC immunity effect. Ideally this would come with a fairy buff to even it out (slight potency boost to Fey Union and maybe Embrace), but that's cause SCH has it rough too.

Regen on rouse would be fine...........if they remove the 1min recast and change it to either 10sec or 30secs.

And even then, it's not like they are taking away something to add in sustain, so why does it mean so much for you for it not to come back?

I mean at this point, its coming back. Say hello to the Summoners in your roulettes using sustain every 10 seconds to heal 1/4th of their pets health because they can waste time casting sustain, rather than placing their pet outside of the cleave. Enhanced Rouse was just a way to keep your pets health up, by doing good SMN things, like casting rouse. They are also reducing the cost/cast time of Summon, so I guess your GCD benediction. xD They could have just allowed chocobos to heal pets in overworld content, but meh. Waste your GCDS. Oh well.

From your perspective you are hating it because you have had bad experiences with summoners, and your argument is basically boils down to. "I don't like W doing X because they should be doing Y all the time"

That's almost like me saying "Red mages shouldn't have a heal or a raise because they should be focusing on DPS and nothing else" or "Tanks should tank, and not dps" or "Healers should focus on healing and not trying to dps"

Don't think I've ever used sustain besides when I was in solo content I think it's more of a optional benefit instead of something needed.....I will never use it outside of solo content because my pet has yet to die in Savage or like expert roulette lol

Like people have said, Sustain would be mostly used for solo-content which is usually the time Titan-Egi is in use.

Why would I waste time casting it on my pet in group-content when I can just as easily hit "swift cast" followed by instantly re-summoning my pet with a full health bar?
