    Final Fantasy V is my favorite FF game, so at first I thought "Hey, Bartz is canonically a Blue Mage so I'd love it to be in FFXIV." But I really have no idea how to integrate a Blue Mage into an MMO. A Blue Mages main ability is to copy an enemies ability and basically just use it as their own. I want a magic Tank in this game but I don't think it works with Blue mage. Maybe Time Mage from FFXII would be a better fit.

    It worked in XI, but it's possible in XIV as well. Many people didn't think RDM could work in both games, but it has. BLU is no different.

    I thought he was canonically a mime/mimic?

    XI was an mmo and had blue mage but it was horribly unbalanced.
