I see your point. I think well have to see how future events will unfold revolving the reconstruction of Doma. Personally id find it interesting if he'd show some flaws during this development. Like the process not going as smoothly as he had hoped and making some poor leadership decisions. he's young after all, and we could assume he lacks experience. Perhaps the absence and eventual return of a certain old and experienced samurai can also be a strong factor in how this plays out.

Boyfriend material? Sir Aymeric. Yeah Lord Hien might be a fun person to be around or with, but I have little to go on and he is rather not stable. He seems the type to sherk responsibilities. Besides I love Ishgard more than Doma.

Did you play a different game, or something? The entire basis of Hien's character is that he values the responsibilities he has to his people very deeply.

Both are badasses in their own right. Not to mention I feel like the cast the perfect english voice actors for both of them. I'm sure Hien will have more story to him in the coming patches. I did feel like the whole "Doma" part of stormblood was really rushed.

Yes! I totally agree on that, I do enjoy their voices :] Suits them very well *nods*
Let's hope SE can keep the voice actors for a long time.

I like both Hien and Aymeric, but to make it fair I feel we have to compare them by the initial appearances rather than the totality of our relationships with them. It wouldn't be fair to compare a character we've known since ARR to one we just met that way now would it?

Aymeric first came across as a very competant person and skilled in the matters of Ishgardian politics. He knew how to get what he wanted from the Scions, Mor Dhona, and the Eorzean Alliance without coming across as unlikable and manipulative. He had goals and he took the actions necessary to accomplish them, all while fostering good will with everyone else.

By contrast Hien immediately struck me as a leader of men, not merely a politician but something more. Here is a man who is afraid of the costs for Doma that a rebellion might require, to the point that he would give his life if it meant avoiding further harm to Doma. Royalty, inspiration, leader, these terms fail to capture what Hien truly is, this ephemeral quality that Hien has that makes him so much more than other leaders we have seen in the game. I can see why people would follow him in rebellion.

Aymeric is the kind of man that you would want in charge of a government, Hien is the kind of man that you would follow to the very ends of the earth.

Team Hienmeric. I love them both, and I look forward to see how Hien develops in future patches.

Not that Hien marrying a Doman Hyuran (or just plain Hyuran), would make less sense, it's just if a romance subplot comes along for the new king, Cerinia's right there.

Although, I feel the Oronir leader may try for her soon.
So maybe Hien and the Ruby princess? The real one?

Hien. I love Aymeric with all my heart, but Hien has going for him something that Hauchy had that Aymeric lacks - a lack of distance. It involves being out on the field together, which Aymeric can't afford because of his position, as well as spending time away from battle together. Aymeric invited you over for dinner, sure, but at that point the bond between you was supposedly already established. With Hien, you see it building even with small things, like playful rivalry at the start, or being invited for a drink before a fight, or just sparring, and hell, you get to tease him! You get to tease Shun-chan! Er, I'm sorry, Master Shun. In that sense, I dare say he'd give Hauchy himself a run for his money.

To put it differently, Aymeric is that hopeless romantic who'll sweep you off your feet while Hien is the guy you'll Netflix and Chill with and will tickle you under the blankets while you both trash talk each other. Both are good, but I much prefer the later.
