Everything looks just a bit boring like the fields too. It's nothing we haven't seen in dozens of other fantasy games and definitely not something that hits the bar of imagination that we've come to expect from a Final Fantasy title.

There is no Zanarkad, no Fisherman's Warf, no chruch with garden inside it, no Teleport Holla's, no sea turned into a crystal nor forest turned into stone.

    It's just ordinary fantasy.

Well I can't speak for WoW, as I said it wasn't my game, but the PvP items in Warhammer didn't take a day to get, maybe at level 10... Sorry man, you're flat out wrong. How are dungeons always dropping gear bad? It's still a chance it's usable by a person in your party.

You're basically saying you should do dungeons and not get anything out of them? That perpetuates the dungeon grind, which I thought was a bad thing? Should content not be completed by anyone but the most well oiled machine? That's pointless. It should be able to be beat by a PUG, a pug who communicates and talks together.

My point about Warhammer online pve taking 2 years to get 1 drop is kind of the point... You guys seem to equate time to gear, so therefore it was a hard game.

P.S. you couldn't get your gear in a week, you are a flat out liar and fraud for perpetrating that notion.

    Thanks.

Maybe you are right about quality. My general thought was if I asked everyone which game they thought looked better from graphics and not including game play (assuming no one knew of these games previous to avoid bias, and even if they had no idea what an MMO was) which game looked better to them.

I could compare FFXI to WOW and FFXIV to Rift (trying to compare similar launch times) and I think if every person in the world was asked FFXI and FFXIV would be more popular graphics and/or art style wise.

I also think of which would be more popular for the same thing comparing Call of Duty/Halo to WOW/WOW clone with better graphics. Maybe this is irrelevant but this is what popped into my mind.

I think most who played FXI for long would agree that compared to many other MMO FFXI had a very 'deep' gameplay.
Anyways... this is offtopic, please let us not discuss FF VS WOW gameplay here.
    Thanks

I was just summing up how WoW was easier or faster in some parts. It's not bad that you always get gear upgrades, but at some points it just felt too easy.
I'm sorry, I could get a piece of PvP gear in a day on WAR, that's simply how it happened. I PvPed, and then the gear either dropped, or I had earned enough marks or whatnot to buy it. I hadn't reached the endgame content, but I was Tier 3, and I had my PvP sets finished before I moved onto the next tier.
You're basically flipping your argument around and angry because you spent ages at level 10 trying to get boots or some shit.
P.S. I got my gear in a week, I'm telling the truth and you're using a thesaurus to perpetrate your notions. Did you perhaps play right at release? It's possible patches made gear easier to acquire.

On-topic - I've never considered Final Fantasy's art style distinctively Japanese or anime, but it hasn't entirely been western. SE sort of has their own style of things, but lately, most high-end graphics look somewhat the same. We just need some more iconic FF things around the world and on our characters

You could get ranks at lower levels easily, you would not gain the marks required. There was no off XP ability you kept leveling. This meant that as you killed players you kept gaining XP. What that translates to to for those who have not played is your main career rank(caps at 40) will always cap out your renown rank(capped at 80 then) until you hit careeer 36.

This meant you couldn't sit in a certain "tier" to sit around and gear out your char. You were automatically bumped up due to the inability to control your experience gain.

I pvped entirely up to renown rank 80. That means I went much beyond level 10, in fact I played the game from beta until this game released. You could not earn your gear in one night unless you had some amazingly lucky night in which you captured each zone in a pairing 2x and then broken down the extra medallions for the gear or you didn't take a day to do so.

You can't break down gear, maybe you could. It's possible you killed a guy who was 80 and he dropped a royal medallion that you broke down... it's unlikely... maybe you were that special somebody that only got forum posts, i doubt it.

I'm not flipping my argument around anywhere. I'm telling you you're lying. I do not like liars, you're more than welcome to look up my character on the realwar site, his name is Ulakai and he is on the Badlands server.

I don't need a thesaurus. I played the game, you apparently did not.

Edit: To clarify on my point, If time is what equates to difficulty warhammer is the hardest of all. It took me 2 years to get 1 piece of gear. If you are speaking of the scripted battles, then no game is off limits because once you know the script it is simply a matter of class, gear, and level composition. Sorry you hate to hear the facts.

    Whatever man, I stopped playing.
I never felt the gear made a difference, anyways. If you made it to level cap, why are you so butt hurt about gear that took ages to get at tier 1? What did you play, some prissy high elf? You RP them quiet well.
Let's stop smearing shit on this decent topic, ok?

I'm glad FF14 went for the realism approach, personally. 11 did the same... it was about as good as it could get for the time it was released, and it held strong for quite a long time. I always hated cartoony characters in my games... I played WoW for a while, but the entire time those awful graphics just grinded my brain to mush every time i looked at them. All of the characters looked ridiculous in one way or another.... What I really like about FF14 is the accurate (by game standards) anatomy. Sure, most of the breasts are pretty big... but it's a Japanese-made game, what can you honestly expect? Anyone who's seen the game running while I was playing it has always been completely amazed by the graphics (A lot of people have seen it and commented on it). It looks pretty splendid on my big tv, and I wouldn't have it any other way. If they turned it into an anime-esque looking game, I'd surely cancel my account once the F2p time finally dried up.

Gear made a huge difference(see: why people are quitting Warhammer Online).

I made it to level cap, did you know tier one doesn't mean level 10, OH MY DEAR LORD, tier one meant first tier of high level gear, JEEZ LOUISE!

I made my gear work undegeared, for almost two years with garbage because of RNG. The same RNG you equate to difficulty.

You use ad hominem to refute me? I didn't play a prissy high elf, I was a cloth wearing dedicated healer. On the destruction side, you're such a vet in Warhammer Online you will know how easy/hard that was.

I've never once deviated from my original point, I don't want SOGA style graphics, eastern style art is awesome, and let's hope that is spread in more games.

They have this saying, fail more noob. kind of applies to you.

as a anime fan, alot of anime character design is more realistic. Well compaired to say most cartoons in america. I like anime better as it touches more realistic stories. Like sailor moon vs johnny test. Kinda sad alot of western cartoonist have been trying and failing by copying that art style. Like mike the kappa.
