    gathering is mostly click click click on things like a robot. some people find it boring, some find it relaxing. crafting is a little minigame where you use your buttons in an order that completes the progress bar without fully depleting the durability of the items. yeah in this game having them leveled increases your options for earning money and brings convenience like repairing your own gear instead of walking to an NPC.

    Crafting is boring now, too. You can currently craft the most difficult gear in the game using macros-- there's not much more like a robot than that.
