Thanks, Yoshi P!!
Thanks, Yoshi P!!
Thank you, Yoshida! We appreciate your efforts to help the NA players affected by these natural disasters!
Alternatively, just remove the silly requirement to log in and enter your house to maintain it. Just having a paid subscription should be enough. This should be enough to sustain folks through unexpected periods of lost access of this kind.
I do not see any reason why SE should feel obligated to maintain the houses of folks who have left the game and maybe, might possibly, but who knows, come back. Better to demolish those houses and sell the properties to folks that are actually playing, in order to keep the neighborhoods from becoming ghost towns of empty homes.
Thank you Yoshi-P! It means a lot to those affected.
yup, 1.5 months from end of sub is so much simpler. at least for personal houses.
I know a lot of people are happy about this, but I for one am not. This sets a dangerous precedent for the future of the game. As a lot of people have said in the thread, there are natural disasters every day in the world in one form or another. At what point do you finally take a step back and realize this, and instead focus on the principles of the game that you founded. They are alienating a large portion of the player base in order to cater to a very small percentage. There is a major shortage of housing in the game and as such they set up rules and regulations in-game to monitor it and attempt to alleviate the demand; and instead of addressing the housing shortage issue or simply standing by the rules they had in place, they kowtow to the minority.
I suppose I can live with this if done under special circumstances, but if this becomes a normal thing it needs reevaluating... badly. We need to address the bigger issues as a whole and not just put patches here and there.

The abuse of greatness is when it disjoins remorse from power.
That's nice. They should look into making the housing system better, like adding more. Owning a house is a special thing. A Special *NOT NEEDED* thing. If you really want your own living space then you get an apartment. That's why they were introduced. However, screwing over your paying customers because something out of their hands destroyed their home and currently livelihood is the fastest way to ruin your PR and loose thousands of paid subscriptions. 4, yes FOUR, hurricanes/Tropical storms are hitting the south. Yet, here you are talking about
" ...alienating a large portion of the player base.. "
A large portion of the player base? Please. Player housing decay isn't the reason people get new homes. 90% of the time people sell their homes. Additionally a lot of players just use FC housing and don't shell out 100's of millions of gil for a home (Buying the land from someone then paying for the land).
Thank you Yoshi - even as someone from far away I really apreciate that <3
How does keeping a pretend house standing help people who's real houses have fallen?
Happiness is manditory.
Not being happy is treason.
Treason is punishable by death.
