is this like a NA server only issue? I barely see any on my server... (of course.. I don't even visit Nov. Network anymore)

It's pretty much specific servers. Locked servers don't even see RMT advertisers period let alone constantly.

To me the true solution are:

1. SE bans ALL Gil sellers.
2. SE bans ALL the bots.
3. SE includes ways to prevent more botters in-game.
4. SE fills a lawsuit against every site that's selling Gil.

Sadly even if they got the sites shut down the gil sellers would just make another each time. It would do about as much as RMT Reporting does in-game... Honestly, I think the report function needs a boost too, to say 50 different players reporting someone for RMT either mutes them or locks them out temporarily.

I would prefer if hunt marks weren't spammed on NN as well, that's really my only reason for getting out of it. There are linkshells and FCs for that.

That is honestly something you can work out with your server's Novice Network. Let people know not to do that and, if enough people agree and people still do it, make a rule of warning and, if repeated by the individual, kicking those doing it.

Agreed, but the lawsuits would include a big fine. That would:

1. Turn the RMT business itself inviable due to fines and the need for hiring lawyers (that is not cheap) to defend themselves at court. The main idea here is not just take off the sites, but give them prejudice heavy enough to hurt badly their business.

2. The fact that SE is suing Gil sellers will scare off most of those who will want to sell Gil. They want to make money, sure, but the sight of being sued by a big company like SE is not pleasant for someone that have no money. SE need to create a image that if you sell Gil, you WILL be sued by them.

Of course, they must also do what you said about the tool. It's a great idea if have any mechanic to prevent abuse (like the possibility of some sort of manual analysis, for instance).
