has anyone even gotten past floor 180? pretty sure it's meant to be nigh impossible.

You didn't mentioned the biggest challenge: your multihour progress is reset after disconnect, even if it's from their side.
Also I like how they wiped my #1 datacenter records for some jobs after I've switched server. There's zero reason why they do that. It shouldn't matter on what server within the same datacenter I'm attempting solo.
Agreed on one of the biggest challenges. Not everyone has a perfect internet, I know I don't, so if yours craps out, RIP run. SE servers aren't always perfect (here's looking at you, DDoS), so if some group randomly decides its time to do some attack, RIP run.
I understand the difficulty in implementing some safeguard measure that would allow us the chance to not lose 10+ hrs of progress because of one disconnect, since it could be abused, but I feel like there has to be some type of compromise. People play content, presumably, because they have fun doing it. If someone gets burned investing 15hrs on a PoTD Solo Run just to disconnect, I don't blame them for never retrying solo again. I mean, you score doesn't even get recorded for rankings, even if it would have been high enough to show up.
I find it personally worse when you disconnect in some area where you were completely safe from enemies, or you had Raising on. Like, if the game just put be back in where I disconnected, I wouldn't have wiped to where I saw the score screen.

Time to necro.
If anyone should beat this it will most likely be due to lucky pomanders in the 180-200 region or cheating and not because that person is highly experienced in potd.
In solo you cant fight certain mobs at higher floors, other mobs only with steel, if you are unlucky you cant progress without wasting witching or steel, then you get to the boss who can kill you with an autoattack + minibuster in the same frame. And you would need 2 steel pomander because of the boss fight length to even have a chance.
I know people ask for a dc protection, but you cant get one, it would be to easy to abuse. I would like an option to start at 100 though, especially for premade, maybe tie it to the 1-100 solo achievement as a requirement.
Gold Treasure spawnrates are low and mimics appear more often than ever on the last 170-200 floors, but I wouldn't change that either, because the idea is that you will run dry and struggle.
But in return they could lessen the impact of RNG by increasing the maximum allowed amount of pomander. I am not sure if 4 would already be way easier, maybe 5 would be overkill, instead of the max 3 atm. This should only be allowed in solo runs.
The mobs would stay the same, there would be no intensive balancing, the time limit would stay and the dc's would stay, sustain potion and rdm as the only class who could clear it would stay, but we would have a more realistic shot without relying on luck because that is what you truly need, the odds are against you by design even in good runs.
I hope SE doesn't see just the leaderbords and sees the 2 guys at 193 and 194 and thinks, yee that is not much anymore to 200, apparently it is balanced and doable.
Here is the vid of the JP guy who did 194 I believe https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eEZK8SXvXmM
You can see how he finds 7! pomander of strength or steel on 180-190, others will find 0. He had great luck that the few chests he opened contained the best items for solo.

Am I the only one who feels that if you can solo past.. hell even past floor 50, they need to tone the difficulty UP?
I think its cute that some classes can solo a bit in there. But asking for nerfs to solo what is really light party content seems a bit weird.

Except there's an achievement for soloing to 200. It's intended to be able to be done; no one in the entire world has done so yet for the reasons OP has stated.
It was designed with both solo and light party play in mind from the beginning, hence the achievement for 1-200 solo. The original plan was for the difficulty to toe the line between easy for parties and difficult for solo players, which was well done for 1-150. 151-200 overshot the mark for solo play.
