Now that SE gave us what was asked, people complain that it's female only? *Laughs*. That's hardly SE's fault!

It is 100% their fault. They know they have a problem, because they have acknowledged it. They knew they were giving another female NPC another unique, desirable costume. They knew they were adapting it for all of the different female models for the cash shop, and explicitly avoiding the male models (even where they're basically identical, like Lalafell). They knew they were releasing it and offering no male equivalent, or even the possibility of a future equivalent with the same theme to get people excited. They knew this was fast-tracked past the long-standing problem with glamour items which have no male equivalent in-game.

Furthermore, people were asking for an equivalent item for male characters the whole time. Things requested by players with male characters have a habit of falling on deaf ears, it seems.

It's a terrible alternative, but an alternative does exist in POTD - the tattered robes worn by the boss which could have been made into a fun glamour for non-females if having us wear a dress is so bad (the dress being the only component of Edda's costume which is even remotely gendered in the first place). But all I'm taking from this is that players with male characters should just suck it up and enjoy all of the girls running around having fun and feeling special while we get nothing equivalent for ourselves. Again. I understand that they're a biased team these days and this is what they are going to keep on doing, but that's their choice and these complaints are earned through their behaviour towards their customers. Please don't tell me it's hardly S-E's fault!

You know what sells better than any gender-locked outfit? Non-gender-locked outfits. It's amazing, it's like you instantly double the possible revenue or something.

It's a shame I can only hit 'Like' once.

I do agree, for the life of me I don't understand why they couldn't develop an outfit with the similar dark theme and style and call it the Avere version and release that along side the Edda version. That could have been interesting and would have made lots more happy. I'm really starting to think SE doesn't really understand how cash shops work. Taking the fast easy lazy development way isn't always the best way when the end result is alienating half the players.
