Either it stays the fun middle ground of having an actual skill floor and some challenge or it just loses all excitement for me.

    Aside from this I would like to say I appreciate you trying to help new players clear, even though I'm sure it frustrates you it really is benefitting the community. I understand I'm not going to change your mind and that's okay.

    I hope I get you as a cohealer for Trial Roulette some day soon!

    Anyway, as Moro says, if we nerf the damage dealt by Shinryu's mechanics, then that's taking away the penalty of not avoiding a hit. To help newbies combat AoE's, tell them to stand in the corner of a square. This will always let them be ready to avoid the tail slam AND the centre circular AoE slam (seriously. DO NOT stand in the middle of the unbreakable square). The the 'ice spears,' you're given enough time to dodge the first one (just remember there's a second one on the way).

    If damage was nerfed, that still won't stop people from falling over the edge. Tidal Wave, Aerial Blast, Diamond Dust and Dive Bomb(?). These four (or five? Unsure if the Ice Spears actually push you as well) attacks/mechanics kill people more so than the damage Shinryu dishes out.

    I wanna comment and I am neither pro or anti nerf.

    Exactly, damage nerf wouldn't stop people from falling over the edge. So in essence, most deaths come by individual error. The opposite would be no dangerous edges and highly damaging ground target skills.

    Question, which type of gameplay requires more group effort over individual?

    In older mmos there was this concept of one shot kills. Meaning some type of skill or mechanic that cannot be mitigated or overcome and failure would be instant death. The meta there was usually a DPS check and if you failed that you died. Some of that carried over here but some of those fights have differing outcomes besides it's either do or die in one shot, there is a do this enough and the pain is less or do this barely enough and the pain still comes but not instant death. The fights that give people the most headaches are the ones when you die and cannot overcome aka no chance for raise.

    Wouldn't it be more group cooperation oriented if there was ways to mitigate or counter the skill or mechanic by teamwork rather than individual effort. We have stacks, we have spreads, and debuff transfers.

    How or in what way could there be a group mechanic for making not falling off part of the group effort versus just placing everything on an individual's shoulders?
    1. A healer move called StoneFeet, grants a pt member a resistance to falling off or being knocked back as far, the player still takes damage but not death unless already low on hit points.
    2. An actual contextual duty action called Hang on, a player initiates the action and grabs the targeted player, the duty action must be spammed to pull the targeted player to ground safety.
    3. Or introduce group traits such as Falcon's Wings. Falcon's wings initiates when two or more party members are running in very close proximity to each other. Grants the effect of float, effected players cannot fall off as long as they stay close.

    Now depending on damage still being big, fights just became more group interesting rather than blame or fame.

    So... the echo? Gives you a percentage of extra hp, extra damage dealing capacity, and extra healing capacity. Makes you a little more survivable while lowering also the time the fight would take to clear with the enhanced damage. Thats what you think would fix the issue? Because im fairly certain the echo will show up at the same time the minstrels ballad version does.

    They are survivable as is though, people just need to actually pay attention...and this is regardless of role. Seriously.
