The cheap dungeon thing was pretty funny, I enjoyed it. I saw some of the quotes within the maze and it made me imagine the hell that the dev team goes through to make this game as great as it is now.
I salute you Yoshi-P and your team for your determination to try keep us players happy; yeah there are flaws and complaints, but you continue to work really hard to fix those mistakes.

Wow, 4 years!! I hope the game continues thriving and I shall enjoy the adventure as Warrior of Light along the way

Even as a new player, I still got emotional seeing YoshiP in game, thanking the player. I've did some heavy research once I started playing FFXIV and learned about 1.0 as a whole. The NoClips documentary was incredible and made the Answers cutscene hit even harder, despite never playing 1.0 myself.

To say I was touched and thankful for YoshiP and his team would be an understatement.

The part where they showed Yoshi-P giving that speech and he just broke down crying, really clenched my heart. He loves this game, and puts over 100% into it every day. If not for him, I never would have had the chance to play this AMAZING game.

To Yoshi-P and everyone else on the Dev Team, I thank you from the bottom of my heart. This Rising event was amazing!! Keep up the great work!!

I saw the NoClips documentaries as well and I got teary eyed several times; I kinda wished I was there when 1.0 was around and about so I can say to others, "I WAS THERE!!", but I didn't know that FF had an MMO during that time. XD

I posted in the other thread but Ill be happy to do so here too. Anything to further some positivity and good feedback. I liked the event. The cheap dungeon was interesting and fun. Certain parts of the dialogue were maybe a bit cringey, but they were actually appropriate and even appreciated in this circumstance. So I dig it. Here's looking forward to Halloween and beyond.

I felt bad when I saw the messages in the "Cheap" Dungeon

So let me tell you my perspective on The Rising event!

Before the event started, I suspected that the Rising will open up a big secret in regards to the Minstrel. So~ I just expect a big surprise. I was going on a journey with my partner before we end up in Ul'Dah and thought about doing the event. We went for it, and so entered a very uncommon looking portal. The moment I entered this little room, my partner mentioned "IT'S AN ADMIN JAIL!". I was totally amused upon realizing that perhaps the Minstrel is locked in an admin jail XD

Nonetheless, we help him out. People were talking about the cheapest dungeon ever. I was confused at first, but then I realized it's literally named "Cheap Dungeon" and I laughed pretty hard. Nice surprise! Indulging in the said "Cheap Dungeon" we get to hear a chiptune Azys Lla music, saw some... uhh... "Developer's thoughts"? Oh my.

I figured out the password by comparing the order of the 1st floor, and the letters of the 2nd floor, and entered the letters based on the order, and I solved it! ... but that's not even the biggest surprise...

"Phew, that was an interesting minigame. Here, you're free now, Minstrel."
"Wait... you're playing a tune here? Wh-What's going... on..." *snores*
*Wakes up and shakes my head, and finds myself surrounded until...*
"Oh... hey Mins-- wait a minute... Naoki... Yoshida... YOSHIDA!? W-w-wait, he himself personally thanked me? Oh my god... now I get it..."
*shocked, she emotionally cries a tear and sniffles*
"Y-you're welcome... self-insert... developer... minstrel... guy... I will never forget this... I will keep walking in the crystal...!"

*Watches fireworks with the Minstrel*
"This... this is all your doing technically... Yoshida in disguise... Thank you. Your secret's safe with me."

I never saw the Minstrel the same way ever again...

It's really nice when the director and the development team go their way to thank the players. It was fun for me seeing those comments in the cheap dungeon being a former developer myself. The dungeon also made me think for a minute, stumped actually on how to resolve it.

May FF14 have more years and success to come.

I also wanted to say thank you for yet another Rising event. It's nice to get a yearly reminder that the devs still care an awful lot, and they show it with every patch for better or worse. They make mistakes like everyone else on the planet, but it's the ongoing support that drives them and that's a very good thing. Here's hoping for another 4 great years.
