Do people see lalafells as children?

Lalafell are just far too cutesy to be seen as adults for me. If Japan wasnt so obsessed with making small things cutesy and childish, I will forever be really disturbed by lalafells

As an adult that often gets mistaken as a young teen and plays as a main lala, I personally see lalas as adults. Everyone here has already talked about the NPCs of this race. How mature they seem, how long they can live for, etc. Therefore, that only strengthens my personal viewpoint that lalas are just adults that stopped growing at a young age.

I can understand how someone can see them as children. However, I don't understand the negative conclusions that people come to when others play them (or any race).

Maybe if we were given more ways to customize the age/appearance of lalas, it would help a bit. Oh well.

I totally see lalafels as children. They look like children.

Depends some of the customization options can make them appear pretty old...

Same with all races though. A lot of the hour or mi quote you see barely look like teens. Definitely id them For any alcohol purchases they make.

Lalafells are also generic as dirt looking the same all the time.

The only thing in XIV that isn't kinda generic are roegadyns and au ra.

Hyurs are just humans, elezen look like elves from pretty much any elf-related thing ever, cat girls are a trope that's been done to death, and lalafells can indeed look like chibi characters.

Most of the races have muscle tone sliders but lalafells don't.

Having some musculature would definitely help, instead of their limbs basically being cylinders.

Female Au ra are basically just Hyurs with a tale and scales with male au ra being a bit more unique.

Roegadyns are the only truly unique race and its the least played one so its not people like uniqueness that much anyways

They don't look like children at all. Too deformed/round for that. They clearly look like another race. There are several examples of races actually designed as children in this game, and the adult Lalafell looks similar to none of them in any way.

I just see them as Lala's. However, I do think more could have been done to make the characters not look so young. Some characters like Lolorito are supposed to be older and yet take away the mustache and they look no older than characters like Pipin. Maybe add a few wrinkles or something to make them look more elderly, or wise, I don't know.

For example ( please forgive the bad photoshopping lol XD ) Here's old Mimidoa, normal and then with wrinkles added.

Bad example aside I think something like that could help make them more like adults, at least for the older characters.

Can't remember details but there was a quest in mor dhona involving lalas pretending to be children playing together. Of course they are thieves and the real children get blamed.
Today I saw Au'ra children for first time. SE need to put children playing together more often, from each race. Real children, real lalas, no pretending.
