Players and the fanbase aside, there's far more Lalafel NPCs with sexual overtones than other races.

Actually Miqote's are the ones that are constantly presented as the more promiscuous of all the races, looks at all the NPC dancers/sexual workers/etc.. 90% of them are Miqote's. And while some Lalas do have some sexual overtone lines as NPC and such, they don't come close as to how many Miqo's I've seen with this behaviour too, but that's just nitpicking.

They are supposed to be adults anyway so I don't really mind, does it comes as weird and creepy when a Lala denotes some sexual interest? Sure, but I just brush it off and keep playing. and we are going waaaay off-topic.

I still want Vieras on the game! I hope they at least give us some glimpse of them if they plan to add them later on with the next exp.

From memory there's the one group of dancers in the Ruby Road exchange, those twins that were taken in by that captain who dresses in the weird outfits, one in the spring that propositions you, the two selling themselves near the Limsa Lominsa docks and I'm sure there's a couple others, but that's all that's coming to mind right now.

Lalafel have one having a wet dream about Rauban in Camp Drybone, Momodi, there's two propositioning a hyuran woman but for the life of me I cannot remember where. There's also Gegeruju. By god is there Gegeruju. He should count as 10 NPCs because there's no one who comes anywhere near his level of hedonism. Men, women, human, beasttribe, all the same to him it seems. Maybe Miqo'te outnumber the Lalafel, but it's definitely not 90% and they're certainly not the most explicit.

I'm not quite sure if he adressed it recently in an english interview, but a few days ago Yoshi-P talked to "buffed", a german gaming new website, about when they will implement a new race.

This is what he said (badly translated by me ): "Currently we're not thinking about [implementing a new race], because a new race means a lot of development effort for us. We're happy with how Au'ra finally arrived in the game and also how their backstory was revealed. Another challenge is the armor. When we want to implement a new race we have to adjust every piece of armor to the races bodytype - that means a lot of work and thus a lot of ressources. So the development of new armor itself means a lot of effort and affects our workload really negatively.
We're not saying that we will never implement a new race though, we just have to really think it through."

If you're going to introduce a new race, then you better have a pretty good explanation for why we never heard about/saw them for like 70 levels, and also pre-calamity. So this lore aspect could be an even more demanding point to address than their looks. So More jobs and classes and perhaps even play style (apart from crafting gathering fighting and furnishing) would be possible and likely, but a whole new race would be a Final Fantasy core franchise level decision.

Viera would be an awesome addition to FF14, and I know quite a few people who would pick up the game just from seeing them as a playable race!

Perhaps Yoshida knows that as soon as an ingame Viera is shown people will go apeshit and demand it to be added. Even more. If I were Yoshie-P I would put Viera NPC's into the third "wing" of the Ivalice Raid.

As for the Feet problem: Give them a permanent glamour that shows them "barefoot". Or rather with a default viera shoe. Problem solved.

100% back this up. I think I'd prefer the shorter/more cutesy design because it'd be something a lot more unique. (potatoes are very cute but y'know)
