Do people see lalafells as children?

I don't see many Lalafells as I only log on late and it's past their bedtime.

Hey when you spend a lot of time trying to form a mass Lalafell army and try to take over the world
during the day, tires us out! The other Lala's are Nightowls and are NIN/spies so you just don't see them hehehe.

This reminds me of a certain interview of a certain Game of Thrones actor, in which he describes an encounter with a fan.

Apart from the size I do not think there is any way a person can confuse a Lalafell with a child. They are just little people with a desire to take over the world.
