    Unfortunately if they want to have dungeon finder... you have to instance the world or it simply will not work. That is the issue with the whole dungeon finder regressionary movement WoW started. Sacrifices community, guild unity, the feeling of being in a world for ease of gameplay for those who do not want to make/find a party.

    With Yoshida's mind made up already with the want a instanced style online game to make all the casuals happy... I feel the complaining about instancing everything is a waste of time though.

    Instancing some of the game = great.... instancing all of the game = stupid design and decision making by the devs.
    I despise the thought of the game being mainly world dungeons. It's a horrible mechanic because it breeds rude players and limits the access of content to a small percentage of players.

    I'm not against world dungeons, I enjoy those as well, to an extent. But I have played many MMO's where my group will fight to the boss only to find out he's been taged, so we wait for a respawn only to have 4 other groups waiting to tag a the same boss. If we happen to get it, often times other players will try and train mobs on us to get us killed so they can claim the boss. Sometimes they fail, sometimes they are able to bring enough mobs where our healers get rushed with adds and the group ends up wiping.

    These tactics are cheap, and annoying. It comes to the point where if you wan't to get that kill, you have to be rude back to people, and try and get them killed so you can claim a boss. Overall this type of game play creates more aggression between groups of people instead of having a community where players are respectful and helpful.

    I'll agree both need to be added, but the problem is how do you make the non-instanced battlefileds worthwhile when Yoshida even said the best gear will be from instances?

    Non-instance isn't a bad idea, you just need a use for them.

    Y: you can say everything will be gone but like those added in 1.19 like Beastmen Stronghold in public field it’s up to if you call those dungeons or not, I want to keep stuff like that in there. But for stuff stuff we want players to use strategy in groups we want to make it instanced.

    So he's saying anything that takes any kind of skill, strategy or thought will be instanced so everything non instanced will be filler and crap?

    If it's a complicated fight and non instanced you can just throw more people at it and call it good, completely trivializing any any content they add. By having instanced fights they can make them more engaging, and people can attempt them without fear of other players deliberately destroying their chances for success.

    If there was a reason to keep doing it, and keep it varying.
    Like gear that gets almost as good, IF you or your Grand Company are currently dominating certain areas, AND lower in another. (This way we don't just have everyone in the game pick uldah, and dominate all the areas.)

    Perhaps they can incorporate a little of both? Dungeons can have an attunement requirement to enter. This can be done with a chain quest starting at your GC, that requires you to enter world dungeon areas in order to investigate or any other story driven incentive. Once completed you gain access to to the dungeons, and can participate in the world section of the dungeon as well.

    The only problem I see with this set-up is people may not want to HAVE to do a pre-requisite to enter. But like I said, it's an idea and we can always change things, or add other peoples ideas to have something that works.
