    I did V2 finally, yeah it's taken me a while since I don't play as much as I can any more with so many responsibilities. But I had no joy or excitement when I finally beat it seeing it took about a weeks worth of practice to do it.. or at least find a party able to get mechanics down.

    What makes raiding boring in FFXIV is the gear is just unfun and bland, and you'll literally walk away with nothing... 89% of the time... only to wait until next week to get another chance...

    To be the armor is not worth it. What this game needs is more LOOT more variety LOOT!
    Give me WOW loot... like I want that loot, to me it's just eh an ilvl upgrade.

    This I can agree on the savage gear at least for tanks is so ugly its sad, like the tank chest piece is some of the worse lookin gear ive seen in the game.

    If we had WoW loot I could spam Kugane Castle for gear and tomestones to try for that titanforge +55 ilvl boost and just skip savage raiding for being too much effort for the reward. Then spam the 24 man raid when it comes out for the same reason.

    WoW loot is a diabloified joke from last expansion with a new coat of paint now.

    Raiding is and always has been for the social experience of doing something challenging with friends.

    If you don't have that, it's not worth it.

    Lol I don't mean from WoW, I mean like something along the lines of: to drool over it, something that would get you jumping on your feet in excitement! That's the Wow I mean, I have never felt that wow factor from any of the gear in FFXIV. It's all the same. Some subtitude Direct Hit for Spell Speed, others Critical Hit for Spell Speed, etc. There's nothing unique like:
    Hey this RDM Specific Gear gives: A 10% chance to activate Dual Cast TWICE, something big like that! That would be wow to me... FFXI did that with its AF gear, it made it stand out from other gear.

    To be fair...WoW gear actually DOES have effects like that, lol. IIRC, YoshiP said they were originally against ideas like gear set bonuses for XIV, but they've recently been reconsidering that stance (which makes me happy). Not sure if they're seriously committed to rolling that out this expansion, though, or if it's going to be a pet project for them to work on along with 5.0.

    One of the things that made FFXI's dungeon areas (not Dynamis) so deadly was the fact that not only was there trash, not only were there puzzles mixed in with all the bosses and ever changing zones - the areas were open world and the trash mobs were constantly respawning. Someone mentioned Sacrarium up thread with its moving walls. I recall being stuck in MSQ stuff in there and it was a painful slog because stuff kept respawning! And there were the equivalent of Hunts down there (they were called NMs or HNMs in XI) so occasionally you'd see a hunting party sneak by. And you'd see people farming gear and drops and all sorts of other stuff, because the zone was more than just a dungeon.


    Dynamis used to be the only theme park zone, where one group would get exclusive access to the area and mobs would not respawn. The reason it was so epic in scale and scope was because it was originally for 18-64 players. And they killed it when they revamped it and made it like all the other dungeon areas in XI, with multiple parties allowed in and respawning mobs

    Yea in this game where a one wipe leads to a disband that wouldnt work and people are acting like that isnt the culture of this game. The more stuff u add to an instance the more it may take some people to learn therefore the more people will leave asap as soon as something goes wrong. People need to stop giving this community more credit than its due, you make stuff complicated enough then anyone who doesnt have dedicated friends to do things with in game will be left out.
