Oh i know weapon damage> other stats but still wonder if they take the time to play the jobs rather then just adding whatever stats which are not even beneficial to said job, lol

Well, they are beneficial to the job. Just not always the best or exactly what you want.

It's not as if they're putting Mind on a melee weapon or something like that.
