Hmm, maybe carpentry is the way to go then? And hello to you too.

It's still possible to make money (mostly on HW stuff), but so many things that are currently much higher on the difficulty/expense scale to build are just tanked in price. Feels backwards more than anything...

Refer to my other post please, another reason for that is because everyone focuses on that. Another thing about the econ in this game, you are only going to make nice money if you find something no one is doing. Everyone does the high end stuff, undercut spam > lower prices.

Yes it is backwards and FFXIV has always been like that for the most part, there is narrow time periods where the higher stuff is worth doing, like my 3.4 example, but atm, because a lot of people have things 50+, your going to make money off making those leve/gc turn ins.

Actually ya. The older stuff is a little pricer than I certainly remember them being a few years ago. Certainly backwards here. Odd. Maybe I should focus on mid levels. XD

WVR also seems like a place to be. Maybe even LTW Though you'd be hard pressed, the Crafting/Gathering seems to be where the prices are their highest. That and the 320s. Though I note those prices are lowering. Probably due to the fact there are less people hitting 70 and in need of 320s for their Raiding needs.

As an omni-crafter it really doesn't bother me so much..
    Quest rewards are limited.
Once more and more people chip through the story and start levelling other classes (which is what is already starting to happen I believe), the prices will creep back up.

On top of that, part of the issue I believe is that there was a large gap after early access with not a whole lot to do - so a lot of people took the time to level crafts to 70.. Either that or with the new housing coming out in 4.1, people are quite focused on earning gil to prepare for it.
There seem to be a lot more crafters in the market now compared to HW. The i320 stuff just had too much supply on a lot of servers I believe.

As somebody who's NOT rolling in mountains of gil, I can answer yes, this was a good thing.

Tl;dr: Leveling gear should be a luxury.

News flash: It isn't, and shouldn't be.

You greatly underestimate the amount of players who play multiple classes across many roles.

And so what if players sell unwanted gear? Why is this a bad thing? Someone else gets gear they want and the seller gets gil. Win win.

Also do you even like this game? You create a lot of threads heavily criticising it.

I just dont get people saying that you "can't" level up to 70 with the i270 peotic equipement or that you couldn't do it in HW with the i130 one...

It is perfectly fine to do so. I remember in HW having level up WAR to 60 with the full i130 poetic set and didnt have any trouble.

And you can do the same in stormblood. The stats difference between the i270 set and the stuff from dungeon isnt as huge as people make it out to be.

Granted this time you do get an automatic drop at the end of leveling dungeon but its not the end of the world if you dont farm dungeon for better loot or buy HQ stuff. Now if you had worse gear that the 270 poetic set to begin with thats another story...

The only type of crafted leveling gear that I bother my time and resources with is crafting gear. Demand is constant, no competing with dungeon gear, and potential buyers range from 8 classes, not one or three. There's also a better chance that those potential buyers will have more funds to part with.

I love the quests giving HQ equips. As a non-crafter, it's practically my only source of income other than my crappy RNG. I kept none of the equips for myself, and sold them all. Now...if only I would stop hoarding materia...
