Let us commission screenshots as paintings

Awesome idea on paper and can be done (BnS profiles, Aion and TERA Guild symbols, CS:GO Sprays) but you will end with people using it for pornographic stuff and SE will be forced to shut down the system (also the size and quality of the pic will be low).

To not have to check each image, they could simply ("simply") add an item such as an ingame camera, that saves say the last 5 screenshots you took with it, and lets you get those as paintings. It wouldn't allow you to use screenshots you already have, but you could use new ones you take.

Regrettably, that couldn't work. Screenshots are still held on the client, and could be altered/replaced before submission despite whatever checks are in place.
The shot would need to be stored at the server at the time it is taken to ensure that it's not corrupted. Images are resource heavy by default, so that's a ton of data moving through the pipelines.
Even giving one per player is a massive overhead that I sincerely doubt SE will ever agree to.

I wish. But SE has so many non sense restrictions and bad customization issues in this game i doubt we'd ever get the joyous painter idea. Such a shame.

Dont see why. Other games dont shut down their system because of lewdness. Why would SE?

While I can't see this happening, an alternate option would be for some kind of tool like /gpose, wherein you would take a snapshot and then pay a fee in gil to have it turned into a painting to hang in your house. This way you could have self portraits, paintings of the whole FC together, etc.

It would all be done client-side, and there's no way it could be used as a violation of the ToS.

This is a good point. Who's even going to see your lewd self portrait hanging in your house besides yourself and maybe a few members of your FC?

If we don't have systems like this because of the potential of misuse, we should get rid of the chat box since I can potentially use it to call people a *** ******* who likes to ***** and *** the Lalafell ramen.

Tbh... I actually wanted something similiar to this.... And as egotistical as it sounds, I want a portrait of myself to stick on my wall in the house. Why shouldn't the WoL have a painting of herself to show how awesome she is?
