Why would allowing one type of role (possibly 2) be fair in solo carrying? Why would you want to make PvP worse? Quit if this new style bothers you so much. Don't need people like you trying to bring back Melee carrying games....a clown fiesta.
Seriously. SE took away the potential to solo carry out of low ranks.
They are forcing us to HAVE to work as a team to win against even the lowest skilled player...but they take away our chat?
Bad healer? Dead
Bad ranged that won't focus? No one on enemy team dies
Bad melee that doesn't know his left from his right and charges in? Grats, you have a feeder and he cant even get kills.
Bad tank? Enemy is free casting.
How do we fix this? I have no clue. I LOVED PvP before 4.0, but i HATED the queue times. Now we have fast queues but it isn't even fun to have to count on your teammate that's playing his 2nd ranked match ever and doesn't know his left from his right.
healers can solo carry out of lower ranks just fine right now. Melee can too(not samurai) if you can 100-0 the healer on the enemy team the moment they get CC'd since healers aren't taking defense. If they are just kill the ranged/melee/weaker player till their defense wears off. Ranged can too (not rdm, unsure of blm, seems like its tossup with them), tanks can too (not warrior).
Seeing the trend?
basically these jobs can carry out of low ranks up to high ranks easy.(some easier than others) based on my experience/opinion anyway
SCH/ WHM
PLD/DRK
MNK/DRG/NIN
SMN/BRD
if you play anything else you will have the hardest time laddering as there are so many problems on the other jobs that they can not function well enough with bad team mates in the current patch. Some of them look great on paper till you actually play them too.
of course it should go without saying that if you have a very bad healer or someone DC's you may as well just get ready for the next game.(and take note of their name to exploit their weakness later) A lot of healers seem to freak out and leave their team behind running away from a tank/melee and it's causing a lot of deaths that could be avoided otherwise. There really is a lot going on in this new mode. its not balanced, certain things are too punishing and some jobs literally can 0-100 in 3 seconds if they know how to play. There's currently a huge gap between a good player and an outstanding player due to the new system.

I think I have been very VERY unlucky in my ques as a healer... over 60% of my gears I literally double the healing output of the enemy healer and have to deal with tanks going to 10 stacks, melee hitting 5 stacks, or ranged going 3+. I even try to let them just die but the enemy teams would just ignore then till the last minute :-/ These games would end in a loss too because of the way the medal system works...
This is unranked to gold too. It's pretty pathetic. That's why carrying just can't happen...yes tho, if I was a melee I could carry by abusing the feast medals and doing what the enemy teams have been doing to me because my allies just grab whatever they see without doing some simple math.
Anyway, I have had easier times carrying other seasons even as a healer this low in ranks (mainly because of repose).
I will try other jobs to see what you are saying. I was going to do PLD but healer insta ques are just too nice.
Edit: I'm just so salty with the chat removal. I can't stand not being able to be talk to my allies. It really turns me off when I try to play ranked PvP...slowly moving towards just not even wanting to play it. Oh well
