Yeah, if we go by the most likely idea that the New World is to Othard's East, but Vylbrand and the rest of the "Old' World's" West, it'd likely be something there we have yet to see. Now, if we encounter some mamool ja that's mention their homeland and something sounding like metallic fire breathers, we'd have more of a hint.

I'm not sure how large the New World is supposed to be, though. Most of the known contact is from the east coast of the New World, since Ketenramm (and more recently Merlwyb) sailed west from Vylbrand to meet the Mamool Ja and their Autarch. If the New World is anything like Eorzea's size, that would be like making contact with Ala Mhigans and assuming that the Limsans are the same.
