magitek mounts only existed in 1 out of 14 games and all of its spin off games if i just read correctly (reading up on it now).

sure chocobos are the only animal mount i was able to freely ride on, but Shoopuffs are a perfect example that Chocobos are not the only animals bred to be mounts whatsoever in the franchise.
if you want to talk about consistancy then why not the entire aesthetic of the game? XI and XIV are two games out of 14 that look nothing like the rest of the entire franchise.

Though, I kinda agree with you. Chocobos aren't the only mounts in FF. Magitech could work but I don't think it fits in the current world we are in. Maybe after 2.0. We will have to see.
