As Esk said I hope they give us a quest for get the mount, not just that it appears of nothing.
Btw I dont think that implement some mob mounts (not every mob in the game) just for ppl who stay all the way til 2.0 will make FF a wowclone, cause all the other new players will ride a choco, and the dev team can make chocos more important than the mob mounts with breeding.

for my post, I wasn't being serious when I said "Magitek only"
I would probably favor it over any mounts, but that aside.
I should tell you Magitek armor has been in XIV from the beginning, when you 1st hear about Garlamed.
So if you think they should or should not work on it, would be stupid to mention how Galrean soldiers devastate their opponents using Magitek armor, and never actually show it in any fights.

I'm opposed to Arihman or Goobues solely because of (1) arihman can't fly with something so heavy on them, and the evil thing. (2) goobues shouldn't be so easy to tame, along side the tiny legs not being a good means of travel.

I am however, in favor of a unique FFXIV only mount as well. (along side Chocobo customization.)

Personally I think Final Fantasy is fine without random mounts, in my opinion Chocobos are the only necessary mount for an FF game unless the new mount is like a robot similar to FF6 or something which I still think is a little over the top for an MMO.

As for these monster mounts I can't agree with it, if they want to add more why not just include Chocobo breeding again, Chocobo mini games like Chocobo racing so forth or put more effort into the mount idea and come up with something original, not something that's already a monster in the game.

They could also make Chocobo gear that adds customisable looks and stats to your Chocobo.
For example gear could improve your Chocobos speed and have difforent armour looks to it.
Another thing obviously more Chocobo types could be added, blue, green, black even gold. They could make the Gold Chocobo there flying mount like in FF9. There is already so much they can do with Chocobos I don’t see a purpose in adding random crap, like a flying eye LOL... yea it's funny but come on really, it's a mob ffs XD.

Another thing that worries me is the lag these giant mounts might cause, if everyone is riding around or standing around the same place with GIANT Monsters all over the joint won't that cause mass lag and create all kinds of annoying problems for people. Not to mention it would probably look really dumb having all those monsters that are supposed to be enemies randomly becoming kiddie rides all of a sudden.... I dunno I don't agree with it, to me it just seems dumb lol.

Leave the random spastic mounts to wow games and keep the awesome Chocobo theme for Final Fantasy, if you don’t like it go play wow or rift or what ever else has random mounts.

I don’t want to work hard to get a flying eye or GUBU I want to work hard on making my Chocobo Awsome!
