I really liked summoner being a dot/pet oriented mage they were during original game and hw and thats the direction i'd like this class to follow. There is something cool and unique about that indirect way to harm your enemies compared to more straightforward damage classes. Right now.. i honestly dunno what SE wants the summoner to become anymore. Its just infinte chain of stackable activators locked behind another chain of stackable activators punishing you any time if something goes wrong.. And then spamming ruin, the most boring spell in existance all day long. Just why? Did anyone asked them for this? Because im pretty sure i didn't.

Yes, 'everyone' asked for this. 'everyone' wanted large, cool looking summons that do massive attacks like in the previous ff games. Then SE went and did it, made DWT and Deathflare faster to execute, made DoTs easier to manage by removing one and buffing tri disaster, and gave us Demi Bahamut and his Akh Morn attacks.

Then 'everyone' complained that bahamut was too big, and that we like DoT management instead of ruin spam, and so the forums are full of people ranting and raving because god forbid, someone could offer constructive criticism without flying off the handle.

My main issue is with the fact it does take a lot of effort to summon bahamut and all your progress is lost if you die or mess up. The recent Aethertrail-even-if-no-effect buff was a good start, but if you can keep Dreadwyrm aether through death I think this will go a long way.
