It'd be a shame if we never got to explore more of the Steppe. Though perhaps we'll go into the desert adjacent to it in the next expac or so instead.

Yeah I kind of felt the same way about the features in the desert at the bottom of southern thanalan, some neat architecture and things but there are no quests or anything around them for details lol.

They could easily throw in a quest that leads to a dungeon in the area at some point. That's my hope, at least.

New areas will always be relevant to the story so there's that. Depending on where it goes, that's where it will lead us.
There's probably a good chance we'll get more far eastern zones unless they abandon the far east after this expansion.
