    magic charge bar: Is this a glitch or is this really necessary?

    I started my THM/CNJ back up for the first time since 1.19 release (been playing MRD) and i havent seen any answers to my question posted yet.

    * Is it a glitch or is it really necessary for my THM/CNJ to wait until his hand is back down to his thigh to cast my next spell instead of at the end of the charge?

    if it was designed like this on purpose then why not have the charge bar finish charging when your hand is at your thigh?

    What with the subtarget system and having to constantly press enter to confirm all of my spells its getting extremely tedious and figuratively speaking... deadly.
    Having to pay attention to my hand position in order to cast my next spell is getting extremely annoying.

    BTW i have a 2 thousand dollar computer and T1 internet. no the problem is not mine.

    well a Que system negates your ability to act on split second decision making because that qued ability will activate when you all of a sudden need something else at that moment.

    My issue is not being able to cast your next spell once the charge bar is finished charging.
    after the charge bar is finished charging you then have to wait again and time it just right to cast your next spell or nothing will happen and its making me loose any patience i have left in wanting to cast any spells at all. Im not so sure im excited for the mage overhauld because of this one feature.

    This is literally the only MMO in existance that does this.

    It's called waiting for the animation to finish. AFAIK they're changing it at some point, but I understand the thought process behind it. They want the abilities to look as fluid as possible and not get stopped short by the next one. The problem is the animations are longer than in other mmos.

    Also, nice fail at trying to brag.

    brag? did i list which computer i have and the components in them? did i say i was the only one with an expensive computer?
    i posted that because the #1 response is "its your computer/internet"

    "its called waiting for the animation to finish" hahaha the animation is a wave of the hand and would not look any less fluid if you brought your hand directly back to your face and started your next spell. is it so unrealistic to be able to start your next spell when your hand finished its wave?

    if they want the animations to be fluid then program it so they fluidly bring their hand back to their face,.... not to your hip.

    The dev team thought it would be a good idea to make the combat system feel even laggier than it felt previously.

    Yes, brag. You could have said that you already tested the issue and found it to not be hardware related. You instead mentioned the price of said computer, which is easily construed as bragging. Same for the T1 comment. A T1 isn't all that fast, reliable for sure, but also not common among gamers. So yes, bragging.

    What if your next action wasn't a spell? You finish the animation and return to your stance. Also some games are not designed with combat as a heavy primary factor. In those you tend not to have fancy animations as much. WoW is a good example of a more combat focused mmorpg. You can cancel a spell at just about any time, the animations are simple and can be interrupted easily. It's just not as important as more fluid combat.

    The devs mentioned shortening the animations but i wonder if that will allow you to bring your hand right back to your face instead of just back to your hip quicker.

    Honestly what you should be asking for is for the animation to play during the last part of the casting rather than after it. You still get the animation, and can also start casting after the timer finishes.

    the way i pictured what you wrote is exactly what im suggesting.
    my buffs are prot, shell, stygian spikes and SS-
    if the animation schedule lock was limited to the completion of the charge timer then it would be one solid fluid animation of bringing your hand to your face to charge, wave the hand, and then bring right back to your face allowing one to cast their buffs in a non fail proof succession.
    currently the animation schedule lock seems to be limited to what we currently have forcing us to near blindly have to time in order to cast anything in succession.

    regardless of how they do it it is not necessary for my character to put his hand back to his side before i can cast my next spell. near blind timing sucks.

    this is my theory as myself and mooshywooshy from FFXI hacked and modified animations in FFXI all the time.
    not saying FFXIV is the same which is why im wondering whats actually going on behind the scenes on this issue.
