He had English ticked, implying that he was a speaker, and it did go like that. I even gave him examples of abilties like Rampart and Sentinel and he was like "What do they do?" I even told him what cd was short for. I doubt going 1-70, after numerous dungeons of tanking you'll definitely pick up stuff like that

Sad to say, it was probably a bought account or something. Though I do have a friend - who shall remain anonymous - who made me want to actually kill him during a level 60 dungeon pre-SB. I was on SMN since it was a training run for another friend who wanted to try healing properly, and so our mutual friend came as DRK. He died on every single pull. I asked why he didn't use Grit. He eventually activated Grit. I asked why he wasn't using Darkside - "I don't like to". Ok then. I asked why he had no defensive buffs up and he said he didn't have any, at which point I just facepalmed so hard that I couldn't deal with trying to persuade him to read his skill list any longer. I'm a pretty bad DRK myself but at least I know what abilities it gets, and this guy definitely levelled from 30-60 on his own (with dungeons, no less!) because I know him very well.

At the end of the run from hell the other friend privately thanked me for being so quick to whip Titan out and cover for the tanking disaster, and that dear, dear tank friend has been politely encouraged to stick with his DPS instead in future.

Back from my random diversion though, anyone who doesn't speak DE/FR/JP is going to tick English first, especially on an English-majority server group. A lot of them don't speak it fluently, though. Having said that, it does sound as though you attempted to help him further so I guess he was just really bad at the game :/

At least that's how your "healer" friend learns. DF is full of these kind of players, better learn quick and early or end up very frustrated at the end. There's no better way to learn that.

I was scared the newbie healer would be too afraid to ever heal again after that experience, not least because the DRK kept trying to use body aggro and of course every time he randomly died to avoidable things or lost aggro due to the healer trying to save him, the healer would get eaten. It really was a very traumatic experience. I know the DRK in the real world so it almost felt worth taking a long train ride to tell him off in person. Almost.

My habit, at the beginning of a run, I pull small. >>> Provoking the Healer
If the Healer pass me to pull... Ahem!
If the Heller step back... What the Hell?

Oh! I have to mention that, when ever I Duty Roulette as a tank...
I go PLD
If I want to make ppl feel bad about doing their job poorly, to bring Hell to the Duty, I go DRK.
I don't have that much time to mess around... PLD that is.

A message to anyone who ever tanks a Titan: Nobody likes you if you keep him in the middle of the platform. Not the healers, not your off-tank, and definitely not the RDM who can't use Displacement now.

Anyway, Level 50/60 roulette as AST dropped me into the 50 version of Lost City. I had 5.5k HP in that dungeon. The PLD had 6.2k. They were using accessories that ranged between ilvl 70 and ilvl 30.

But they weren't even the most infuriating part of the dungeon. Oh no. They at least managed to keep aggro and stay alive if I focused on healing, which I did.

No, the single worst part of the dungeon was the level 50 BLM who:

- Refused to use any Fire spells on large pulls, except for Flare.
- Cast Flare with 3 Umbral Ice stacks.
- Was spamming Thunder spells for whatever reason.
- Was spamming Scourge for whatever reason.
- Was spamming Drain for whatever reason.
- Used Blizzard II without hitting anything.
- Spammed Blizzard spells, a true classic.
- Stood around doing nothing 50% of the time.

I almost left, and I really wanted to. But no, I stuck it out and the other two party members gave me their comms at the end. Honestly, no, not worth it.

But you can use it and not fall off. You just need to be right in the centre of the platform to do so.

I never got Rescue by any healer since SB has started.
The skill itself is just like that healer says "Do mechanics properly,will you ?" without saying a word on chat log.

Mmm...I'm not a fan of Rescue. I've had it used on me a couple times when it was completely unnecessary (not counting times when my friends have just been trolling me with it), the most notable of which was during a Susano Ex farm party. I was running on AST, and I got the stack marker/marked for the knockback. This was just after SE had "fixed" where Susan's knockback would still knock you back regardless of if you mitigated the damage with shields or not (something I absolutely detested because I liked cheesing it while on Noct AST, especially if I was marked with Churning AND the stack marker). But, anyways, I get knocked back, I pop Sprint and start running back to the group....and the WHM Rescues me straight into the Tidal Water split AOE (which tossed me up into the air), and then I get hit with the stack damage, which killed me before I could even get Essential Dignity off. The best part? They didn't even raise me--a SMN in the group did.

The other notable time I was "Rescued" was when I was running Bardam's Mettle trying to get to 67 on BRD, and the WHM "Rescued" me into an AOE during the first boss. Which also killed me. .__. So yeah... I'm not a fan of Rescue haha. Neither instance did I need help doing the mechanics, but the healers felt the need to "rescue" me into AOEs and certain death. .-.

I got rescued once. I did need help with the mechanic though, as it happened in Kugane Castle. I'd focused down the other DPS's bomb first, then started dealing with mine (but the other DPS didn't help with mine), so the bomb bound me, and I killed it just before it was due to explode and the stack mechanic go off. I couldn't get out in time, so the healer rescued me out and allowed me to get into the stack mechanic and out of the bomb blast. What a great rescue that was. I wasn't even mad, I was happy. It was a perfect rescue.
