Materia and the gear you lose / Melding from Bazzar Questions

So I have been reading though a lot of the materia posts and haven't seen this yet (at least I haven't yet, this is my first post and I did register today, look at me)

So here is my idea, with all the talks about how you lose all your gear when it blows makes it not very appealing to try to bind that +1/2/3 piece of gear, not to mention the fact that you cannot do the U/U gear (which may change in the future?)

My Proposal: A failed attempt loses all the materia and proceeds to break your gear to the point that you cannot wear it until it's repaired. (and I do not mean with DM) So make the item tattered, worn, ripped etc. Then it has to be repaired before you can wear it. The only thing I am not sure about is how to handle U/U items maybe if you can meld SE can use the same system to repair U/U items as well. (get the materials and put in bazaar)

The next part of my topic which may have already been addressed (I haven't seen it yet and could of missed it) is, what happens you have your shiny armor and matera in the new bazaar / meld thing, can anyone attempt it of level or will there be restrictions? Granted you put your items in it's at your own risk but if I am not a crafter and I think it's 25% and it ends up being more like 10% if it blows I lose everything because I couldn't stop them before knowing the %. I would be more apt to meld something at 25% vs 10% and at some points I wont care but I know a lot of others would have an issue with it if it was under even 20%.

So those are my ideas for my first post.

My idea for U/U items is to have them synth into the same materia every time. This way the stat maxers can farm Darkhold or NMs to get the materia they want, instead of playing roulette and wasting tons of gil trying to make a specific kind of materia. For example, the Ascetic's Gear that drops from Toto-Rak, have that turn into rank 31 Intelligence materia. Then if a mage wanted more INT, he or she could run Toto-Rak with a friend to try and get the drop, then grind spiritbind until it it's ready to convert. Now you have the intelligence materia you wanted instead of lifethirst or something else. Casuals can still enjoy random materia while the hardcore have the means to get the exact builds that they want.

    No

Ps. SE is going to release (at some point in time lol) the conversion chart of gear > materia.

Well it's a mixed bag. I think that the Risk vs Reward is what it should be but the chances of melding on to a +3 or U/U that is super hard to get already would be somewhat grounds to try to salvage the equipment maybe. I really just wanted to ask the 2nd part is what is to stop people from breaking people's gear by just trying to meld everything they see regardless of the successful %. At which point then I got to thinking of all the gear that is lost when melding.
