They could definitely improve but it's much better than bloat hell from before.
But I would not mind them adding more "PvP" only skills just to add more to the fun.
PvE skills had no place in PvP. Was so bad, messy and clunky.

The PvP system is better then it was (not sure how much this is saying) but there is still problems with balance. (Unless I am missing something)
I do not like blm at all forcing you drop astral to foul
Why is AST the only one that can rescue?
Range attackers seem to have too much an advantage over melee (Less on blm because it seems too slow, [i think] but RDM,SMN,MCH, BRD has too much an advantage though the ability to range attack damage)
I think it is DRK? has some kind of grapple to pull you too them, the low recast time is too "OP" in front lines (not sure how breaking it is in feast, I do not play that much due to lack of communication) Recast needs to be higher on it, or remove the ability completely.
^ going with that, that is the worst change I ever seen in a game. (removing communication in a mode that needs communication?)
Personally, I do not mind the lack of skills as much as I do the new control scheme. Hitting the same buttons just feels kind of dead or mindless, its not a bad change or anything, I just wish that I had the option to use the standard system instead.

Overall, I prefer the new system, but I feel they went a little too far in how many abilities were pruned. I miss being able to CC as a healer and I prefer my standard 1-2-3 (4-5 for DRG) button combination. Letting us choose to separate abilities and maybe adding back a few more would be fantastic.
I prefer the new PVP significantly more than previously.
That said I PVP as a class I don't PVE as. I tried using my "main" initially and found while I liked the changes the very different playstyle was annoying to adapt to when switching back and forth.
Using a class I don't use for PVE has gotten me into doing PVP significantly more than at any other time i've playd FFXIV.

it got nerfed in 4.05 to a 30s recast.
As for the main thread topic, nah new pvp is fucken great. 1 button combos is weird but not bad, every class i've played has been fun, though melees do feel a bit weak (generally, still get some nice streaks on them sometimes). Previously i theoretically enjoyed pvp but wanted a different hotbar setup anyway, and there were just too many skills tbh. Given that i didn't feel like rearranging my skills for classes i used in both pve and pvp, i just never played. The changes allowing pvp to be used for levelling is great as well, for me, since i'll go punch a dummy to learn any pve skill uses anyway, though i have to admit while levelling RDM i sometimes screwed up a little muscle memory-ing to my pvp mappings. (it's fine now though and i still play both pve and pvp RDM)
I like it. Old PVP had far too much ability bloat.

I love the new changes, PvP is actually fun now.![]()
The new pvp changes are amazing and I love them. only thing I want back is XP for all participants, not a pittance for losers and a worthwhile amount for #1.
I wish they'd make PVE work more like they do with skills in PVP. All combos should be one button per combo.
It's exceptionally basic. Needs more abilities, additional effects to actions, more ways to differentiate yourself from others, and possibilities to outplay or even make plays. Currently, PvP is so bare that the main factor to winning (4v4) is simply playing people who don't know their 12 buttons or waiting for someone to mess up 12 buttons or their 1111.
