I met my partner a few months after heavensward. I was informed about a roleplay group (not erp) that wanted to do meet ups and play so i went. We both met in the small emcampment bit in central shroud not far from the entrance. We roleplayed a bit and seemed to click. We kept bumping into each other in illdylshire on the rock by the teleport (its a building now ) and talked offline aswell. We just had this bond it was weird and at the time i had just moved into a little house on my own and was suffering with depression from finacal struggles as well as being alone. it was nice having someone who i could skype chat with for hours. During one shift that was going bad i jokenly said. 'Urgh come rescue me' and his reaponce was 'sure give me a few weeks' about two months after that i was waiting for him at my local airport. First day was super awkward both of us scared we weird the other out we even kept joking. 'I bet you will black list me after this.' We stopped being shy nerds after a few days. We didnt offically hook up until a month after he went home. Been together ever since. Married in game 28/11/15 two year aniversary in october.

Its part of why i will always love this game. I found my soul mate in it. We even said if we get married how we would put little nods to final in it. And to have the honeymoon in japan so we can go to the eorzea cafe.

I didn't meet my husband in an MMO, but I did meet him online -- on IRC -- a type of text-based chat LONG before the days of AOL messenger and such. He is from Germany and was learning English on his own, and I was interested in meeting people from other countries and helping them have a language practice buddy. We were pen-pals when I was in high school, and we'd send each other letters, photos, CDs (so you know how long ago this was!), postcards and such.

When we finally got to meet in person when I started college, it was love at first sight! We have been married 14 years this June.

Not FFXIV, but we did meet on a game roughly 17 years ago. We have been married just over 16 years and our daughter will be turning 15 this Sunday.

My husband and I met on WoW just over ten years ago. I was almost exclusively a solo player at the time and was just out leveling my hunter in Blades Edge Mountains. I was having trouble with a quest to sneak past some elite ogres. He happened to playing his paladin in the same area and doing the same quest. We bumped into each other and he offered to group up so I joined him and we finished it together (turns out you needed to lure the elites away with beer.) After we finished we were saying our goodbyes when it just popped into my head to ask him if he had visited Evergrove yet (the next quest hub in the zone.) He said no and I offered to show him the way. The rest is history. ^_^

Though god, the first time I went to visit him irl, you should have seen the look on my mom's face when I told her I was flying to Brazil to meet up with a guy I met on line...

I met my wifey outside of FFXIV but she got me into it. It is now one of our primary ways to interact with eachother since we are physically separated by both by distance and money. But we got married in FFXIV and spend a lot of time together in it, including dates ranging from dungeon running as Healer and Tank to just...walking through the world together and heck we even have a house together. That works for us! I know that sounds a little sad in the grand scheme of things but we're happy with it for now.

Met my fiance in 2014, he was FC lead at the time, and I'd joined a random FC that recruited me back in April. I ended up going on voice comms in May, as they were advertising it, went on everyday and sometime in August, he confessed his attraction to me, and so we kicked it off.

We're due to have our third anniversary at the end of the month.

I met my boyfriend on TERA in 2013, and we moved over to FFXIV a couple months after that.

We were in the same guild, and both started using the guild's voice chat around the same time. Everything progressed naturally from there, in the same way it would if you made a group of friends you hung out with daily and started having mutual feelings for one of them. He was in the state right below mine, so my mom decided to take me down to spend Christmas with him that year; took me completely by surprise, neither of us had even considered meeting yet. Moved in with him 6mo later, been together ever since. ♥

We ended up doing the long distance thing for about a year, and then Nov 2014 he asked me to come and visit him - well things went so well that I never went home! Now we're due to be married after I graduate (long story short, but having a green card makes things like name changes a real PITA lol), but it's coolbeans!
My life is infinitely better for having him in it
