Nope, no where in any section of the game is that creature defines as Leviathan, it does not even look like Leviathan from the in-game files and concept art. Also not to mention all Summons are defined specifically as a group in the data files and this creature is not part of that definition. The creature is stated as "Sea Serpent" by both In-Game NPC's as well as by the developers. learnthelore?

It's Leviathan. Its data files are right next to Ifrit and Titan. If that doesn't tell you its classification, I don't know what will. Try checking the 2.0 data files. The Leviathan concept art in there is similar to the "Sea Serpent".

The new sidequests where you actually get to see all 3 of the GC leaders and why they started up their GCs are quite awesome. If you haven't done them you should!!!!

And I'm not talking about the ones to join the GCs or that long quest chain...to hear the speeches. It's the other side stories.

@Viion - Sorry viion, when I said Levaithen previously I didn't mean it as fact, the sea serpeant merely looked like leviathen to me so that's what I called it, I didn't mean it WAS leviathen, I should of said sea serpeant cause that IS what they called it in the game ^^.

Well they mentioned the Swallowtail Roam sea serpeant as "a" leviathan, and not Leviathan per se. Devil's in the details and all that.

Either way, while that scene's one of my favorites, I'm actually loving a lot of the storyline tied to the Grand Companies that will eventually lead to the incoming war with Garlemaid, the fall of Dalamud, and the beginning of the 7th Umbral Era.
