I understand your frustration since your definition seems to be that you're being limited since you're not 320+ on everything... but I have a feeling if you COULD do that in a week.. we'd be hearing complaints of "there's nothing else to do now!"
you can play all classes, in every single event available to you. Find what you like in 310/320 gear, then gear THAT up. Another tier of gear isn't going to fundamentally change how a job plays.

I can gear all my jobs to 320 + in 5 minutes if I wanted, the question is what is the point in doing that? If 310-320 is good enough for everything how can you argue there is content to do? As said I cap every week, I am a 70-2 star omni-crafter, though not top melded so I can't do it fast, with the cost of 320 on the MB, it is far more worth it just to buy from the MB as I take 30 seconds to get the same profit margins as the 320 stuff on other things, in 30 seconds. (Oh and the reason I said 320 + is because I have 1k+ in creation because I do not know what to spend them on, because I do not have a job to invest that kind of gating into. I used to just put them on BLM because I like the feel of it, now I don't)

Looking past that I am questioning what the point of all this is. If 310-320 is enough to do anything, one can buy all the 320 off the MB then what? (as shown I have the power to do that, just do not see the reason to do so) there is truly no point in doing any content. This means right on 4.05, there was truly no content to do, since I was able to craft 320 gear on that day.

Wether they raid or not is not part of the response. Simply that they can.

Let's say they dont raid though, they can still craft for gil to buy sets or just craft them, if they dont craft they can gather for gil, if they dont gather and only run dungeons / primals why do they need the creation gear when Verity an un capped set is more than acceptable for that content.

This is not a gating issue beyond having an easily accessible raid ready sets where if they dont raid, it does not matter and if they do raid they would be going in as their most familiar / favorite job anyways (usually). If they dont raid and want to gear multiple jobs though there are options and they are fairly accessible options at that including Omega Normal which is only gated by completing the story line / weekly drops (but is really easy to do) and crafted sets which is only gated by the players own willingness to do things like crafting, maps, gathering, other content in the game besides combat.

I wanted to touch on this part of your post because I found it curious as to why you would ask the question when you are asking for more ways to gear up.

Because that's specifically why they're doing this.

Consider this: Avenues to gear up are as follows:

Verity Tomes get you to 310. Full set, weapons included
Omega Raid gets you to 320. This includes Weapons. This takes around 7 weeks for a full gear for one character
Creation will take you 14 weeks to gear up to a full set. This gives you 330 gear.
You can also craft a full set of armor via the armorer for 320 gear. That takes the time you want to invest in it so it's anywhere between a day to x days.

Each set I spoke about are set in a form of role based gear. Tanks, Ranged DPS, Ranged Casters, Healers, Melee DPS, NIN and lolDRG. (These two have their own gearset, sadly. And that's only for the left side. Their right side is linked to either the Ranged DPS for NIN or Melee DPS for DRG).

While yes, the fact that you lost time with BLM and no longer have the ability to actually go and play the class you loved and feel like you wasted time on gearing it, it isn't in the realm of impossibility to gear up your other class. Furthermore, the fact that it dips into different roles such as Summoner or Red Mage in your case, makes it that you don't necessarily have to reset to 0 unless you change roles. And because of that, that is a choice you make.

The fact remains that there are multiple paths for you to gear up. The fact you spent your tomes on a class you no longer enjoy is not Square-Enix's fault. You chose to get the gear even after playing it for a while and then deciding, in the end, you did not like it. Take it as a lesson learnt and simply craft the 320 gear.

The avenues and gear that is available is directly related to being able to gear up multiple classes. Get your 310 gear for your classes with Verity which drops fairly often. I'm capped at 2k for a while just doing my basic roulettes. Then, you can either do Omega and gear up within 7 weeks, gear up with your Omni crafter in the amount of time it would take you, or continue onwards.

None of the gear really is 'useless'. It just allows users to gear up their other classes in different ways. You can effectively gear up 3 roles alone with the avenues they gave you; enough for a DD, Tank and Healer to gear up to around 320 levels.

I'm not sure what else you want here. If it's Creation tomes for every class, you essentially do NOT need that at all. I mean...like at all. It's an added benefit and a progression system for one of your roles while your other roles all have the ability to gear up, but in a lesser form. You can do all content including the raids with 310 gear. 320 is your reward. Including Savage mode. Savage is rewarding you with 340 gear. Which is over the top for anything in the game.

Yes, you are missing the point completely.

Several times it was said 310-320 is good enough for anything, if this is the case, the game currently has NO CONTENT! on top of this, there is pointless gating for 320 gear (the delta normal) because it was made obsolete in 2 weeks. Delta normal gear ended up obsolete before anyone could get body, and questionably pants. Why have a 4 week gate on a single piece of gear when it was made obsolete before you could even obtain it? I was never asking how to gear, I was trying to explain my dislike on the current gating that is pretty much pointless.

Lets pretend someone got all 340 on day 1, so what? how does that effect you? Just like the exp gates of 1.0, but the difference is, people compared about that, while not complaining about this? I do not understand why gate someone in gearing in 1 job. I know there is options, but the game currently gives me no motivation to care about passing 310. Why is this? where is the content? It is so easy to overmeld 320 gear, why does 330 or 340 gear matter? where is the content where this is used in? why does it all matter?

The replies I got so far the gating was so people do not complain about no content, but I do not understand this when there is no content? getting 330 is the same we got 310 on 4.0, we are running the same 3 dungeons in 4.0 to get 310 as in now to get 330.

So why is there gating to only gear 1 job when 1. this game is supposed to be flexible in playing what you want, and 2, where is the content to make this gating have a point? and finally 3, you have easy access to 320 gear, that makes gating 320 gear (limited meld) and 330 gear (limited meld) pretty much pointless unless said 330 gear has both sub stats optimal for your class, and that is rare to find. How many people do you see with triple VI's overmelds? (or double for right?) it is pretty common.. so I simply do not get it.

I am not blaming SE for me liking a class less, I said because of that, I have no class I even like enough as of yet to invest such gating into. I have all my 320 parts, I have all my creation, I have 2 more weeks to pick something to spend creation on, before it cap overflows the max. I do not like that because of the gate limit compared to jobs to gear, I am not given enough time to pick a job to use such gatings on. Why make such investments when there is no content to use it in????

Without pointless gating I would not need to worry about picking wrong since I would be able to simply play another and gear it, but right now, it might as well be 1 job per character. So why have strict gating like this when the appeal is supposed to be play different jobs?

I do not like the idea of a game advertising you can play all jobs on your character when this is simply not true because the large time gates prevent this.

So first you complain that you are prevented from gearing all jobs, and then you complain that there is no point in getting gear for all jobs... Which is it?

If gear is a reward for you then there's no point in giving it to you immediately because you'll not appreciate it (like you don't appreciate the 320 gear). If gear is not a reward but rather a tool for accessing and clearing content on your chosen job(s) then you should be happy to know it's possible to gear up with no time gates.

The current model serves both mentalities because everything is doable in 320 gear but people can wait for higher tome gear (or raid for gear) if they find higher gear rewarding.

Whenever this topic comes up, people always seem to act as if gearing is the only content available in game. "Oh no! Reached max ilvl! Guess it's time to unsub!".

Obviously content can be cleared in gear provided by the easily farmed Verity, so no one truly needs to go higher. However, plenty of people want to be able to bring their absolute best to the content of their choosing (even filthy casuals like myself). As it stands now, alternate jobs suffer with gearing due to the caps, and it's very easy to feel forced into playing only one or two jobs as that's all you can gear efficiently.

If you read the comment, you would see I actually mentioned its gated by weekly drops, but is really easy to do. Low effort, low reward.
