I'm usually contributing somewhere between 20 to 30% of the group's overall DPS across the run in solo queue roulettes. It's very dooable to save as much as 10 minutes if you get unlucky on the DPS.

Back ontop to the OP, you're better off taking a gentle diplomatic approach with the healer that's slacking in your roulette IMO. Consider a 'hey, anything I can do to help you dps a little?' or such.

Seeng as how we get a zillion of these insightful and in no way repetitive & inflammatory threads, along with its famous twin "Healers need to stop DPSing", I'll just quote myself: http://forum.square-enix.com/ffxiv/t...=1#post4287640

I've seen an increasing amount of healers DPS, especially in comparison to the 3.X days and it's lovely. If you has a healer deny half your kit, then you're a terrible healer, it's that simple and that is true for all classes, no matter what anyone says.

Seriously. It's like raging at your team in League for sucking...when you're playing a bot match.

Well, I hate to break your illusion of grandeur, but most healers I know DPS's when they feel their tank can handle things without the need for constant spam of healing spells. It gets boring if we just sit there and do nothing, so it speeds things up. If the vast majority of healers you come across while tanking isn't DPSing, it speaks more for your ability to tank and your use of CDs than anything you can say here. You must not be all that great. Perhaps you should work on your tanking skills rather than point the finger at those you deem lazy...

While we in no way needed this thread, I will agree with Deceptus that it is still depressingly common for healers to stand around waiting to heal, regardless of whether or not the tank is geared and playing properly.

I think the situation has improved somewhat, but no, an inactive healer is usually not the tank's fault.

Its actually a lot better in SB, in HW if i dps'ed with my SCH i usually got 2-3 recommendations per expert. If i tank nowdays i just use the rule if you don't always cast something i mass pull in DPS stance to make up for the loss of dmg(i always pull appropriately to what the healer's ilvl can handle with avarage skills), if the healer can't handle it(when i use my CD's perfect) i just leave and take my 30 mins. As a healer you must always cast something be it heals or dps, just like any other class and if you don't you are just lazy sorry to break it to you

So please, the developers made it easier so we don't have to stance dance anymore as healers. Please, don't be lazy and contribute to faster runs.
It's not a DPS's responsibility to heal or tank (some of them do have the kit for it), so how is it that a healer HAS to DPS just because it's available to them. First and foremost the healer has to heal, with DPS being optional. Also how is it being lazy just because you want to be selfish and have "faster runs"? It's not difficult to ask a healer when a duty starts if they can DPS more, but they are under no obligation to be dictated by the tank. Heal yourself if you want faster runs or use Party Finder, simple stuff bub.

    *enters dungeon*
*Tank mashes sprint button and grabs 3 packs of mobs*
*I catch up to the almost dead tank and give him Benediction*
*I get locked into chain-casting Cure2, not having enough time or MP to do anything else*

How again was I supposed to DPS?

Ever since I have gotten to the 315 -320 Ilevel, I have been able to survive a lot easier is dungeons allowing me to stay in dps stance the entire dungeon (even in Ala Mhigo). As a WAR I have access to a lot of great CDs and though I take more damage, I usually am never in any threat of dying so I pull 2 groups when I tank. I rather the healer focus on keeping me alive a bit more when I am dps stance while I put out the damage they would of done by spamming berserk, overpowers and decimates every pull even doing more damage than some dps. I usually get 2-3 player commendation every time I do the expert dungeons so I guess some healers prefer this more.
