well I believe one of the main strengths they mentioned about the new engine was how scale-able it is. Like Zenaku said dunno if Intergrated graphics will work, but who knows.Sad to see them take the DX9 route again when only the absolutely highest end DX9 cards can run the game half acceptably and any current 90 bucks card would do a better job.... Unless the new engine is so awesome that it can scale down enough to run decently on integrated video, in that case good for them.
$90 card? I got a HD 5670 for $50 that has DX 11 for my dad. Not the greatest card ever made but it would run circles around any DX 9 card out there. And there are cheaper cards than that out there that would run this game decent. Say a HD 5400 series for about $30 @ Newegg and those have DX 11.
Is DirectX 9 easier to program for? not a programer so I would not know. But DX 9 seems like a waste to me.

Here is the interview from RPGSite.com mentioning DX10/11:
RPGSite: Will the newly introduced graphics engine support Direct X 10/11? Or will it still be limited to DX 9.0c?
Yoshida: With the development of the new engine, the first phase—the first thing that we are prioritizing, is to have a graphics engine that will support high-end users, low-end PCs and the PlayStation 3. The quality of graphics will be the same across all three, but depending on your system, it’ll be about how many characters can you display… how many effects can you display, draw distance.
You won’t have to have a high-end PC to have great graphics; the high-end PC people will be able to see more stuff, and for the low-end, we’ll be able to limit that so those people can still play it, and so PS3 users can also run the game. That is our first phase. Once we have gotten that ready for 2.0, the next step is getting that ready for Direct X 11. That might take between 6-8 months, but it’s on our schedule. We are pushing it back because if we had put that together, then it would mean delaying the release 6-8 months, so first thing’s first.
RPGSite: Not to mention, not everyone has a DX11 system.
Yoshida: It’s a very long schedule, and if you have too much stuff that you want to get in, then it just delays that release. We thought we could make that a step—release [2.0] first, and then go from there.
Be honest I can careless about DX 10,11 support all im hoping for is the new engine isn't as demanding as Crystal Tools, and yet works on my pc at Standard-High setting at 1024x768 resolution 10-30 fps slowdowns in towns though.

Because quite a lot of people are still using Windows XP (me included) and upgrading to 7 cost somewhere from $100-$200. Unless, of course, you get it illegally.$90 card? XP is outdated. Its full of holes that make system security a nightmare. And while it is a light weight OS Win 7 still runs games better. Of coarse its a decade old so no shock there. I wont be telling you to save your money. I dont wanna tell you to go and get a bootleg copy. I dont wanna tell you that they can be installed as a fully functioning copy capable of getting regular updates from Microsoft. Im not going to tell you how easy bootleg copys are to find. Why I bet your little brother or that one odd friend of yours could get you one, but you shouldn't since its morally wrong and no one around here has compromised morals.

Yeah I was thinking more about the game running on Intel/AMD APUs, not just any mobo graphics chip.

Yes, while you're at it let's make this game Windows 7 onry because it's so profitable right? Almost every upcoming major release supports DX 9, that gives you a hint. Luckily for us, you aint in charge of any major releaseXP is outdated. Its full of holes that make system security a nightmare. And while it is a light weight OS Win 7 still runs games better. If I had my way people that use windows XP today would have to daily have to fight off bandits. Not that Im not understanding I just hate people that refuse to do whats easy to do and upgrade to get with the times despite the very heavy pressure to stop living in the past. You should just bite the bullet and join the majority of us in the future. Hate to break it to you but XP users are going to be the ever increasing butt of jokes starting... well now.
